Carmelo Anthony has informed people close to him that he will not sign an extension with the Nets, according to sources.

Anthony has had a longstanding preference to play for the Knicks.

If the Knicks and Nuggets are unable to complete a trade, Anthony must still weigh his options of whether to risk not signing an extension with the looming uncertainty of the NBA's next collective bargaining agreement.

he refuses to give the Media a straight answer. If what Pugz posted earlier is true, which I saw posted all over the place earlier when I was getting tweeted updates on my phone, then he has given the Nuggets a straight answer. Just not saying it public for some reason.

There are so many teams around the NBA that are waiting to make deadline trades because apparently they all depend on this trade... not exactly sure why. But I heard it's like a domino effect. Once Denver makes this trade all the other trades will start falling into place.

I just read that other GMs are pressuring Denver to end this fiasco in the next 2, 2 1/2 days so they can all do their deals, so there might be a Knicks-Nuggets trade finally within "24-48" hours.

LOS ANGELES -- The Knicks have made what was described as their final trade proposal for Carmelo Anthony Sunday, pushing the months-long drama toward its merciful conclusion, CBSSports.com has learned.

The Knicks would send three starters -- Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, and Raymond Felton -- to Denver for Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams and Anthony Carter, sources said Sunday. The Nuggets would get the Knicks' first-round pick in 2014, while Minnesota would get Eddy Curry's expiring contract and Anthony Randolph from New York. Curry would then be waived, and the Knicks would send as much as $3 million to Minnesota to pay his freight. Carter must approve the trade and waive his Bird rights for the deal to be approved.

Still don't think they should trade Felton, he's been doing so well for them. I'd say trade Gallo + Chandler + Randolph or some other bench player.

i dont wanna see him go either but Felton was always a 2-year option for the Knicks, at best -- I think he's replaceable.

I think they'll have to go get someone else, either through FA or Trade before the deadline because I heard that Billups wants out of NY or NJ, whichever one got him and Anthony.

And I also won't deny that for a good portion of the season we had Tonny Turiaf playing C, and now it's Mozgov getting more time, and he's been pretty solid.

Knicks knew when they hired D'Antoni it was all offense no defense. So why anybody uses "Your defense sucks" is pretty retarded -- because we knew that was going to be the case before we even hired D'Antoni.

D'Antoni is never going to win anything in this league with his system, he's had teams better than the team you're forming even if you get CP3/Deron and never won anything with it, you guys think this is going to spring you into the elite category but it won't because you don't play any defense
