Report: Carmelo Could Force Trade To KnicksAccording to a source familiar with his strategy, Carmelo Anthony would accept a trade to multiple teams and the Magic and Knicks are at the top of his wish list.
Anthony's plan to leave Denver this off-season went into motion last week while Anthony was in New York for a Nike event.
According to the source, the Nuggets were advised to begin exploring trades for Anthony since he intends to leave the team as a free agent next summer.
It has become clear that Carmelo Anthony is unlikely to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets, which has ignited rumors of possible trade destinations.
There are two ways that Anthony could force a trade in the near future. He could sign the three-year, $65 million extension Denver has offered him and demand a trade.
He could also refuse to sign, leaving the Nuggets to trade him or receive nothing when he becomes a free agent after this season.
"The persistent belief is New York is where he wants to end up," according to the New York Post.
