True, but Hughes expires, so they'll still have roughly 10mil to still spend.

Thats Curry and 10mil to still spend.

Idk maybe because Im a Knick fan I see this as a good deal.

That reminds me of when the Lakers were trying to trade for KG, and they were giving up like Odom, Kwame, and whoever, and all the Lakers fans were like "I see this as a good deal for both sides."

Pistons fans do it sometimes too, but they're more of the type to see the glass not just half full, but all full whenever they do anything.

This is different, TMac isnt a superstar anymore no one will trade for him because of talent its for his contract.

I agree, and maybe it's because I want to see T-Mac in a Knicks uniform, but I wouldn't consider this trade unfair to either side. If Curry's going to be what he once was, or even close with about 16 and 7, I don't see how anyone can say this is a bad trade on the Rockets' part. T-Mac is not the same when he's unhealthy, but only they know what % he will likely be at when the season begins. If he's going to be injured, what does he do for them? The Rockets should do this deal.

With the NBA free agency period only two days away, a blurb from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has Mike Bibby leaving the Atlanta Hawks and Josh Smith named as the latest player being sent to the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire.

The report also indicated the Hawks will add Jamal Crawford and Jeff Teague.
JSmith + JCrawford + J.Teague for Amare?

Thats a lttle much for just Amare, if thers any truth to it, then the Suns should jump on the deal.

Yeah they just traded for him didn't they. Also Boozer just opted to stay with the Jazz for another year.

Iverson's stock has dropped exponentially in the last year. He went from hoping to ink an $8-10 million a year extension with the Denver Nuggets at this time last summer to simply hoping he can find NBA employment for the 2009-10 season.

The one suitor that has been mentioned in the media of late is the Charlotte Bobcats. Iverson's former coach Larry Brown still has a lot of respect for Iverson and also a team he's trying to push into the NBA Playoffs for the first time in franchise history. On the surface, the idea seems like a good one. However, let's not forget that while Iverson and Brown ended on good terms, they butted heads repeatedly over the course of many years in Philadelphia.

One also has to wonder whether or not Iverson would be open to coming off the bench. The Bobcats are already trying to balance giving minutes to both Raymond Felton and D.J. Augustin. Adding Iverson into that equation would only make things more complicated, even if he sees most of his minutes at the two spot. All that said, expect Brown to try and get the Bobcats to take a look at Iverson this summer.

Another destination for Iverson could be the New York Knicks. While some people will likely dismiss this notion without even giving it a thought, stop and ponder it for just a minute. The Knicks didn't get the point guard they were hoping for in the draft. Moreover, there remains a decent likelihood that both David Lee and Nate Robinson could be playing elsewhere next season as the Knicks prepare to clear salary cap space for 2010. The end result is a team that likely won't make the playoffs and could make the fans in NYC restless.

Enter "The Answer."

The Knicks could sign Iverson to a one-year deal. It would be a near-perfect fit for both parties. The Knicks could bring some excitement to The Garden while the fans wait for the summer of 2010. For Iverson, he could try and revive his career in Mike D'Antoni's shoot-first-and-ask-questions-later offense, which would be a perfect complement to A.I.'s skill-set.

One final destination for Iverson could be the Atlanta Hawks, especially if Mike Bibby departs. Iverson would likely be playing the point guard position if he signed in Atlanta, though, and there are some major issues teams face long-term with that such as Iverson dribbling away the shot-clock while teammates stand on the weakside. This is one of those ideas that might sound good in theory, but in practice it could be detrimental to head coach Mike Woodson's job security.
AI in NY?

We do lack a goto scorer, and he would without a doubt thrive in D'Antoni's system. I only see it happening if we lose Nate though, honestly I dont think it happens at all, but I would love the thought of him in a Knicks uni lol

It would be good to add some excitement in New York, signing him to a one-year deal is a great idea so they still have the space for 2010. Who doesn't want AI on their team? He adds excitement to any team.

Yeah and nobody has been talking about him, I forgot he was a FA lol

Their saying Golden State stands a chance too, but I doubt that since their already loaded with scoriing guards/wings

I think Charlotte or NY is his best bet.

But thats because AI wasnt the main focus in yall's offense Pugz, his game wasnt right for the Piston's offensive plan. He didnt just forget how to play after leaving the Nuggets. He needs the ball in his hands to do what AI does.

That's what I meant. That's why he didn't work out, he's still a good player, him in Charlotte would be perfect, I remember us saying that put him on a team with a bunch of scrubs and that team can be about a .500 team? He just needs to be a teams number one option, he needs the ball more.

AI is a future HOFer, yes, but at this point in his career he can't do much good for a team. He's a selfish player, and I don't know if that will ever change; he can only be good if he's the ONLY guy on his team, i.e. Philly in 2001.

And Crawford can indeed be traded right now, Oberto was traded twice and there are also talks of Ben Wallace being traded, so I don't know why Crawford couldn't.
