Yea exactly, he didnt do what he had to with those opportunities. Especially that year with Cassell and Sprewell. Its all about the rings, it shouldnt be but it is.

No they didn't they were a 1 seed the year they had Cassell and Sprewell

Yeah, but they ran into the Lakers super team (Payton, Malone, etc) which means they ran into the officiating, too. They couldn't win it that year. No way.

Also, they had 40something year old Ervin Johnson (not Magic) starting at center that year. They were an absolute joke at the Center position.

Yeah those lakers weren't a super team other than name value.... Malone and Payton were both way past their prime.

One way or the other, Kobe + Shaq, etc, are better than KG, old Cassell, and what little Sprewell offered for the few years he was good.

I dont understand why someone would discredit a players accomplishments because of the higher value of pieces around him. Duncan played and still plays at a higher level than Garnett.

Ducan just won all nba 3rd team while Garnett averaged 7ppg.

Sam Cassell was an All-Star in 2004 and averaged 20 and 7?

Duncan doesn't have a knee held together by duct tape and hose clamps

I don't think you can answer LeBron given that he didn't win a title until 2012 and didn't even become an all-star until about half way through this decade.
For me it came down to Bryant vs. Duncan and I went with Duncan

I would argue that Dwight Howard basically did it by himself in 08-09. He had solid role players (as did Lebron), but everything about that teams entire style was predicated on him. The defense and the offense. He made it all work. All the "important" guys he was playing with quickly "declined" without him (Redick and Gortat were very early into their careers and very low on the bench).

To be fair then Hedo and Rashard were at a stage in their career where decline was inevitable

I guess, but I was focused more on th fact AI/LeBron were not only the teams number 1 scoring but also main play maker, but id include Dwight in there. But his role players were much better then the previous 2 imo

I mean Eric Snow, Aaron McKie.. Tim Thomas lol

Honestly I'd say between Kobe and Duncan.. But honestly it's Duncan by a loooong shot

Now if we're talking individual talent, Kobe by far.

The votes for LeBron are moronic. He's not even in the top 4

Shaq deteriorated too much at the end for him to be the best

Lebron didn't make the playoffs until 05 -- can't be him

It's Kobe or Timmy
