I'm not understanding this notion from you nola, that the Cavs absolutely have to trade him. They don't, and they've shown this throughout the years. They're not going to trade him unless they get blown away on an offer.

You're reading me wrong, I never said that they absolutely have to trade him, not once did I say that. What I am saying though, is that they would be smart to try and move him right now, since his future with the team is marginal at best, while his value is as high as it'll get. But what they want in return for him will be the end reason why no deal is made.

Varejao has been a wanted man in trade talk for years, and this was before he started putting up insane numbers.

Rockets are a team to watch as well, but they don't really have many picks left.

I know you disagree with me, but it's probably just a matter of time until he gets hurt again. At that point he has NO value what so ever.

But if he has no good trade value, it's better to keep him.

And after this year, Cleveland has $30M in cap space. Free agents like Josh Smith and Paul Milsap might look at the Cavs and see a team with a rising PG who could be Top 5 next year, a C who is averaging 18/15 and a young SG who can be a nice combo scorer as a 5th option. If, lets say Milsap and Smith sign in Cleveland, along with like Nick Young or Tony Allen, who says the Cavs can't compete? Varejao-Milsap-Smith-Waiters/Gee/Young-Irving is a pretty good lineup

All hypothetical obviously but there is no need to move him JUST to move him

well for starters milsap and josh would be a bad duo. one or the other. milsap would be the better signing because he'll be cheaper but josh would be the better option. but i agree with the idea you have.

Even though we're in Cleveland, I think we'll be able to attract a pretty good free agent with Kyrie here, not to mention we're going to also be adding a top 10 pick in the off-season too with how the season is currently going.

I always thought the Hornets would be able to attract big time free agents because of Chris Paul. Never happened though, he tried to recruit both Melo and Dwight and they laughed at him. I think Cleveland will kind of find themselves in the same situation maybe yall can find a Ryan Anderson type guy to bring in.

Chris Paul+David West+cap is a whole lot less enticing than Kyrie Irving+Dion Waiters+Tristan Thompson+Tyler Zeller+Anderson Varejao+cap

I'm not talking huge name guys like Dwight or anything. Someone a little lower than an all-star. Someone like Batum.

Serious?

Paul+Peja+West+Chandler+Good bench+cap

That was a team ready to contend and they still couldn't attract a SG other than Morris Peterson.
