Browns are more underrated than overrated

Even if people say the Browns will win 7 or 8 games, I still don't see how that would constitute them being overrated. Yes, Colt McCoy's pre-season has put the Browns as an 8 win team in some peoples mind alone (which shouldn't), but they have a lot more young talent that should improve other then Colt.
I've been listening to podcasts and some people are giving the Browns 10-11 wins.

Can't be right, NOLA is never wrong...

Aren't you the one who just closed a thread for "baiting." Some mod you elected SI.

And because you went there, I'll say this:

Can't have a good god damn threaad on SI anymore without baiting and everybody's hate toward somebody.
It has nothing to do with baiting or people hating you, it has to do with everyone knowing Josh McCown is a pedestrian QB.

I haven't seen anyone put them above 8 wins and 3rd in the division.
I'll try and see if I can find the podcasts or find a transcript or something like that.

Keep in mind these are just your every day football fans who do podcasts for fun...

Well, regardless, I'm not going to sit here and say they will win 10 games but there is a small chance they could depending on how good McCoy is and how the rookies on the D-Line are playing.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/schedule/_/name/cle/cleveland-browns

Look at those first 11 games, they would obviously have to steal a game or two in the last 5 weeks against Pitt/Baltimore but those first 11 are winnable

Luke? Josh? Who cares, they are both career backups.

I have been paying attention, the only thing I've heard you say is "he looked great in camp" when everyone knows training camp is a crap shoot. You know who else looked great in camp? Reggie Bush.

Did you see something special from McCown in his 18 preseason attempts?

In your opinion, what do the Jags finish this year?

Well at worst they could obviously be under .500 but the schedule sets up for a hot start and maybe carry momentum into those last 4 games against pitt and baltimore.

I feel like alot of the time your season depends on the start you have.

In 07 the Saints went into Indy and got their asses handed to them and lost their next three games. But in 09 we got out to a hot start and won the Super Bowl.

Saw a whole lot more from Luke in 18 preseaon attempts this year, last year, than Garrard this year..

Quit being blind. I'm not saying Luke is great, Im saying theres no drop off from what Garrard was going to bring to the table.. and its obvious. Luke can stretch the field more and teams will probably bite on the play action.. but yeah, go ahead... I could say Drew Brees is a great QB and you'd argue it, just to fucking argue. Real writers (People who get paid for this type of shit) have came out and said Jags made the right move and that theres NO drop off from Luke and David. You haven't even watch Garrard this preseason, camp, anything to know how horrible hes looked.. add that with his super ass short leash and there.. you have a released QB.. good day sir.

Teams have went 0-2, 0-3, and made playoffs. Bills in 04 started 0-4 IIRC and came very close to playoffs.

Its not how you start, its how you finish..

Jags started strong last year, and the year before that.. and bummed in december and missed the playoffs.

I see no point in having Luke at all.

The team will win just as much with McCown as Gabbert, so why not just start the rookie? McCown=Gabbert right now, and Blaine will be better pretty soon (by like week 3).

Just start Gabbert

Gabbert isn't ready yet, McCown has the experience.. What don't you see?

it's the exception, not the rule. If the Bills didn't start 0-4 they wouldn't have had to worry about barely missing the playoffs. It's a whole lot easier to put yourself in the drivers seat early. MOST of the time if you come out struggling to a 0-3 or 0-4 record you probably will not make the playoffs, and even if you do you will have used up so much just getting there.

How many teams have started 0-4 and made the playoffs anyway? I know the 92 Chargers started 0-4 and finished 11-5, but who else?
