The Bulls defense is nonexistent this season. That Thibs magic is dead.

The bulls have as many home wins this season as the Pistons and Lakers.

nola, I'm curious. What do you see as the main problems with the Pelicans? Because they should be better than this.

Just as an outsider, I'd say they lack a true #2 option next to Davis. Evans, Jrue, and Ryan are all above average scoring options, but ideally they aren't guys you trust as a second option. I posted it the other day, but I think Jrue shoots too much as is anyway for his talent level, and doesn't look for Davis enough. The post defense is shockingly bad.

Haven't had a chance to watch much Raps lately, due mostly to work/west coast games.  Disappointed in how they're playing.  I refuse to blame it on the Demar injury, but it's hard to lose a guy who was able to eat up so much usage at even a mediocre rate.

They've been shit defensively. Casey needs to start JJ.

Wonder where they'd be if someone like George Karl walked through the door tomorrow.

I wouldn't go that far. He wasn't a part of the USA basketball staff for no reason

I don't think you can point at just one thing.

I mean is the personnel lacking?  Sure it is.  Who outside of Davis, Jrue, Reke, Gordon, Anderson, and Asik does this team have?  After a promising second season and great start to this season Rivers has turned into shit, Gordon is hurt, and you have nobody else.  Hopefully Dante Cunningham and Gal Mekel can help out (I think Cunningham will when he settles in, always liked him) but who really knows.  I personally think Babbitt is a better player than people realize but he couldn't defend a broom stick.  I'd also throw out that when Jrue, AD, and Asik are on the floor this is a top 5 defensive team in the league, but they are 27th right now currently.  How bad are they when those guys aren't together?

I think people underestimate how young this team is too.  Jrue is 24, Reke 25, Davis 21, Anderson 27, and so on.  Couple that with how little those guys played together last year?  Still a process.  This entire team is full of low IQ basketball players (not AD, but pretty much everyone else on the team), and that's going to have to change.  Jrue for example, the guy can get to the rim and finish at will, but he'd much rather settle for a much lower efficient mid-range jumper.

and lastly, the coaching has to improve.  Rotations have to improve, offensive sets, defensive philosophies, etc.
