My officiating comments involved how I approved of the practice of not rewarding players for taking bad shots or making bad plays. It was happening to Toronto, a team I like. They kept taking shitty shots and whining about not getting calls. They didn't deserve them.
 
Players aren't supposed to be rewarded for taking bad shots or making bad plays. Not every bit of contact is a foul. The rulebook essentially says that at every level. That's one thing basketball has done right.

Sure it's something. My only comment was that the game was over when it was scheduled. I doubt the Lakers win that game, regardless of whether or not they get 2-3 of those foul calls. I didn't see the plays, so I can't comment from afar through word of mouth.

First of all, any team in the NBA can beat any team on any given night. The 76ers beat the Heat twice last year. That is a terrible argument. On top of that, even without the fouls, the Lakers were down 3 with the ball with 30 seconds left.

It's biased for a ref to not reward players (regardless of which team they play for) for taking bad shots? I think that's good officiating.

If a player is taking pull up 23 footers, but gets fouled each time because of a late release, you should still call the foul, regardless of it being bad


You aren't reffing the play qualities, you are reffing penalties, defined by a rulebook
