Somehow Portland took the lead in this game.  I've had this game on in the background all night, and I have no clue how OKC blew this.

I really hope the standings in the west stay as they are.  GS/OKC will be a blast.

good enough that its kinda shocking you guys dumped him

he played the 5 for us most the game, and his energy on getting offensive rebounds was great. And by playing center, he took away Charlotte's interior D by standing on the 3pt line... he was 3-4 from deep, 6-9 overall

He's kinda doing what we wanted Olynyk to do. Kelly was great in the first half of the year, but in a different way. Definitely liking Jerebko
i honestly waned to keep him. tolliver is just a better stretch four, for us. i think most of it comes down to svg wanting to clean house

teagz, i still think reggie is just trying to find himself. hell settle down.

They aren't even comparable. Harden's defense was on a completely different (worse) level. He literally just did not give a shit

You can thank Coach K the GOAT

Glad we lost to the worst team in the league last night.

I believe I read the worst 6 teams in the NBA have beaten us at home this year.

What's worse, a guy simply not trying or a guy who repeatedly tries (in the exact same way) but doesn't learn, adjust, and get better? At least we knew Harden could play defense. I'm not sure Dame can. Well, I know he could if he settled down and just used his head--that's defense. It's not about athleticism at all. It's about smarts and understanding proper positioning. Athleticism simply provides advantages, and sometimes those advantages are elite (Tony Allen, Bruce Bowen, etc.).

My point was just that you can't make a 10 minute youtube video of simply embarrassing defensive plays filled with ignorance and lack of effort for Lillard like you could for Harden. I agree that Lillard probably just isn't a great defender. I think he could've benefited from being on the USA squad. You see so many people take big leaps the year following playing for the team and that could've been him too

We all know what title Coach K will hold when all is said and done. It certainly helps.

In regard to Dame, there has to be a lack on Stotts' coaching staff, and I like the way he's run that team. It really isn't that hard to coach defense. You can teach technique and run drills for the right reactions to certain things. Something has to be missing for him not to be improving. A player simply will improve with the right drills, the right repetitions. Even if he never jumps to elite defender, he certainly could get better on a consistent basis, and I say that because there are stretches where Portland, Damian included, play great defense as a team.
