Leave it to Josh Smith to take more shots than James Harden in his first game on the team.

I didn't look at Josh's efficiency but I don't really want to know.

As for this new Rockets bench--I like it. Just get Alexy out of there and let Canaan play. He's significantly better.

Playing alongside Harden, Canaan might fit better because Harden can take care of the facilitating and primary ball-handling. But in the second unit? Shved is a very good passer especially for his size. Canaan's assist numbers at the point guard position are downright bad and they don't have any other good facilitators in that lineup to assume that role.

It's kind of funny how bad they are, because he's not necessarily a pure shoot first point guard. Yes, he'll shoot threes, and yes, he'll attack if he sees a lane or the shot clock is winding down. When he was starting, he took a lot of shots working off the ball, so that may have contributed.

I just think he's too valuable to keep on the bench, especially with the way he's played in the fourth quarter. I think he's sitting because his ankle sprain was horrendous. No need to rush him back.

Shved is a nice passer but he's so inconsistent. His ceiling is way above his head but he just can't get out of the hole, if that makes any sense. I like him as a project, not a rotation player.

It'd probably be between Harden and AD right now, but if Westbrook keeps up this ridiculous pace, he takes it.

Right now, Russ looks like the most important player in the league. There's no way around that thought, right now.
