I think he has to come off the bench. They can't go away from DMo's developing game while Jones is gone.
he's not coming off the bench

I don't think it's likely, either, but he shouldn't be a shoe-in starter with how he played in Detroit.

He signed with Houston because he was guaranteed a starting role apparently

You better start him, cause you don't want him leading your second unit.

Well that turns Jones or Motiejunas into instant trade deadline material.

even if it doesn't work, he's a steal at his salary.

I don't like the notion of just casting Jones out of the starting lineup. He worked extremely well with Dwight. If Josh doesn't, McHale has to have the balls to make that change. He never had the balls to make James play defense (seems like James had to decide that for himself), so my confidence is low, in that regard.

And now Houston has extended McHale's contract. God, that is awful news.

jones is not this great role player you make him out to be and josh is miles ahead of him. his value isn't extremely high either so it'd be better to hold onto him for depth.

I watch as many Rockets games as I can. Jones is a player who continually improves, is definitely better than you're implying, and there's no point in just dropping him for an inefficient player who may not even fit in. If Josh Smith does not fit into this starting lineup, he does not belong in it. I hope he proves me wrong for the sake of the potential his addition provides, but if he doesn't, and he doesn't mesh with this lineup, the mere fact of who he is should not force this team to start him.

Smith is a better defender than Jones, and is just as good/if not better of a shooter. And they are fairly equal rebounders as well, with Jones having a slight edge

Jones gives you efficiency as the #4 option, but I'd rather have the upside. Smith should absolutely start.

Not to mention Jones can play second unit center over Black/Adrien, where as Smith cannot. It's a no brainer, actually.

How far has the NBA gone down the drain now that the initial Acy foul is a dirty foul and Wall reacts like that? Good lord, you didn't brace yourself for a beast of a man trying to commit a foul. So you fell over. Big deal. I love watching John Wall but that was pussy shit to react to.
