I really don't understand what this dude doesn't get unless he hates football and has some other money source. Jesus Christ.

Ricky Williams made $240,000 in the CFL 9 years ago. I imagine Gordon would command more in today's days. They don't test for recreational drugs either

I personally don't believe that employers should be able to test for recreational drug use anyway.

I'm with you so long as the employee is competent. I'm fine with testing incompetent people.

And why not? Why should incompetent people receive the same treatment as useful people in a job setting?

Also, I think this might turn into the next discussion topic.

That'd be fine if incompetence wasn't subjective

It's plenty fair. I personally think better workers should be paid better, among other things, in any kind of workforce. Would there some favoritism? Yes, but 99.9% of truly good workers would get better treatment.

It is not.

At job X, they make a certain product. Joe and Suzy and 80% of the crew make 20 in a day. John and Nancy and the other 20% make 10-15 a day. The 80% should be treated better, get paid better, etc, etc.

Incompetence is obvious. Comparative quality of work is obvious.

Incompetence and quality of work don't go hand in hand, if that is what you're implying

Not necessarily, no, but they generally do. Poor workers do not deserve the same pay and treatment as good workers, and I don't mean that they should be treated poorly, but they certainly shouldn't be praised, given first preference for time off, etc.

At my job, my crew all make the same wage, but only about 3 out of 10 are worth a damn, and it bugs me that the other 7 fuck offs get the same rate. Now, I understand that it's just the way it is, but if I could dictate a change, I would do it without hesitation.

Personal experience shouldn't be drawn from when making generalizations on such large topics.

Every workplace is the same, in the grand scheme of things. There are a few useful people and mostly worthless people. It's been that way everywhere I've ever worked. I can't imagine it's any different anywhere else.

Bware, you are a mod. Bring the conversation to a different place like the CT or something, and leave this for actual NFL talk. Come on now

This was a tangent from Josh Gordon.

Back to Josh Gordon--what would you do if you're Cleveland?

Manziel is in rehab, there's some texting controversy from Browns front office members to the sideline, Gordon is gone, scathing report on Haslam from La Canfora.
