Obviously, certain sports cities are going to get more media hype than others. I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is when they distort the stats to make one guy look great, and don't bring up anybody else.
For example, James Reimer was believed to be a great goaltender last season, and had a 2.60 GAA, and a .921% save percentage in thirty-seven appearances.
Devan Dubnyk had a 2.71 GAA, and a .916% save percentage in two less appearances.
Yes, Reimer won a lot more, however he had a motivated team in front of him, while the Oilers were looking to improve their prospects, and dealt with several injuries to veterans in the line-up... and they sucked this year...
Anyways, discuss.
