so if Dwight goes to the Lakers and say "Im not re-signing with you guys, so you can get Parsons/TRob/Asik or nothing" you don't think they would take the guys and run?

As the Rockets, I wouldn't want to make that trade.

thats not what im saying. what i was saying is they dont need to force a sign and trade. if either la tram asks for one is completely different.

if houston can pull off a few contract dumps to outright sign both then they can get around needing to even deal with la

They have enough for one max. They gotta move some dudes to get Dwight (TRob, Lin, and Asik to be specific)

I don't "Hate all successful teams," but I don't think the Lakers deserve an absolute steal in a sign and trade.

hes making $20M in a max in his first year. With around $6m in space after CP3 gets his max, you gotta move $14M in salaries, so whether you think it's overpay or not, you gotta move players to get him

but they dont need to send them to la.

id gladly take trob off their hands in a dump. asik had a real solid season and showed potential, he wouldnt be hard to move. lin is the hardest to move, but if they added parsons and a first or two id even take back lin for two more years.

Well he ain't worth that. Asik has proven Howard unneeded in only one season. Let's go get CP3. I hate the little fucker, but he's the best move available for this particular team.

Asik has no offensive game

If Dwight could shoot free throws, he'd be one of the 5 most dangerous players in the league. He's Top 10 tho, and Asik isn't even Top 50

Honestly I'd probably rather Asik at 5M than Dwight at 20M.

This coming year is $5.3M. Following year is $14.9M

You apparently didn't watch Asik this year. He's developing, and quicker than I expected.

Only the team that matches an offer has to pay it as proposed. The Rockets are able to pay him different numbers in different years as long as he gets what he signed for.

I also assume that if they don't get Dwight, they'll extend Asik to lessen his cap hit.

Houston is good enough at the 5 position. I'd rather get a PG or Josh Smith/David West at the 4 ahead of a center.

Dwight puts them as top of the West. Smoove/West puts them at 3rd in the West, and certainly behind Miami

You're kidding, right?

He's one of the most dominant low post scorers in the game right now

he lacks post moves but that doesnt mean hes still not a good offensive player.
