why do people think Rondo will actually average more then 5 or 6 apg?
Even though I don't think he will lead the league in assists, he still does have 3 great targets to pass the ball to..

But Rondo, isnt what you call a "real" PG, he's just a guard. He isnt a distributor, plus KG, Allen and Pierce averaged about 4apg each last year, so Rondo wont be the playmaker, but just another role player.

wtf? Kevin Garnett leads the league in points and rebounds, but Paul Pierce is the best player on the team? And how does Rajon Rondo all of sudden surpass Nash, Kidd, Miller, Deron, Paul, etc.

Individual Player Award Predictions
Most Valuable Player: Kevin Garnett (24/14/8)
Coach of the Year: Byron Scott (big turn around for the Hornets)
Defensive player of the year: Emeka Okafor (4 bpg)
Rookie of the year: Al Thornton (no Brand = big opportunity)
Most Improved Player: Andrew Bynum (he's a powerhouse)
Points per game leader: Kobe Bryant (duh)
Rebounds per game leader: Dwight Howard (averages about 15, edging out KG)
Assists per game leader: Jason Kidd (healthy Nets = 110 ppg)
i screwed up Pierce is the leading scorer

Because of Jesus Shuttlesworth,Paul Pierce,And KG
Have you ever watched Rajon Rondo play? Just because he's a point guard doesn't mean he's a playmaker. Anybody who thinks he will average more assists than guys like Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Baron Davis, etc. is a complete fool. Heck, Rajon Rondo will probably be 4th or 5th on the Celtics in assists (Garnett, Allen and Pierce are all good for 4-5 APG).

If rondo can 3-4 apg to each of the big 3 he ill average between 9-12 apg and i definetly think he can get that playing with those three.

9-12 APG for Rajon Rondo? Wow, your dumber than I thought...
Are you serious you really don't htink he can average apg game with Kg,ray,Paul pierce.I've seen allen iverson average 7.5 apg with jerry stackhouse and derrick coleman. I'm pretty sure he can top that.

So you're saying that Rondo will get 9-12, KG will get his 5, Pierce will get his 6, Allen will get his 4-5, and there's other players that can get assists too? That'd amount to about 30 APG! Rondo will average no more than 6...

What part of Rondo isn't a playmaker don't you understand? Rondo isn't going to be running their offense, he'll be lucky to even touch the ball most of the time down the court. Allen and Pierce will take on a large majority of the ball handling, so yeah, I don't think there's a chance in hell that Rajon Rondo averages 9-12 APG... You bring up Iverson, well Iverson is a playmaker, he runs their offense, Rajon Rondo on the other hand is nothing more than a role player for the Celtics who will probably see 20-25 MPG this season.

I don't see Doc Rivers winning Coach of the Year, because the Celtics doing well really doesn't have to do with good coaching. I mean, don't get me wrong, the coaching will be important, but there will definately be better coaching in the league.

Also, there is no way Rajon Rondo will lead the league in APG. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Like everyone's already said, just because Rondo is a point, doesn't mean he's a Jason Kidd / Steve Nash type of playmaker, even when surrounded by 3 all-stars. Also, the ball will never be in his hands like it is with Kidd, Nash, and the other top assist men.

Finally, props to the guys that picked Okafor for their DPOY. I went with Ben Wallace, but I like the Okafor choice too.
