the buyout was for like $9Mill UP FRONT then he takes the min, and then he'd get extended. hes an idiot.
Then you have to realize he has a lot of pull in the Pistons Organization due to Dumars lol.

Did we hop in a time machine back to February?

I don't want Rip anymore. I would have liked him as a deadline addition, but now that its the off-season, I'd rather look at other options.

What other options?

An aging Jason Richardson who's clearly lost a step (and really wants to stay in Orlando), Jamal Crawford, which would only hurt the Bulls defensively but give them an offensive spark they need, OJ Mayo maybe but who knows if he's available, that's about all I can think of.

I could've sworn I've seen a thread like this just with different details lol.

I remember a thread where it was a 3-way deal with Rip involved and people were complaining about somebody not getting anything back and everyone forgot that there was a 3rd team lol

O.J. Mayo is the ideal fit, but I'm convinced we aren't working a deal with the management in Memphis.

J.R. Smith is also an option.

I wouldn't call OJ the ideal fit in terms of playing style, maybe because of his age and stuff like that. You need somebody who's more catch and shoot (J-Rich) than another ball-dominant back-court player.

OJ Mayo is actually a better fit, because Rose is the only guy on their team who can get to the rim. Maybe getting a SG who can take some of the ball handling duties away from him would be good.

Cheato is right..they need somebody else who can handle the ball and take some of that pressure off rose because though Watson can get hot at times..he has a weak handle.

Cavs should buyout Baron

and about this potential trade, cool
this would only happen in this weak draft. good for cleveland for potentially jumping at the chance at getting #1 and #2

and Rip potentiall going to Chicago, meh. They dont need another spot up mid range jump shooter. what does Rip do differently than Deng on offense? not much

they need a guy who can get his own shot. Rip can, sure. but he's a lot better being spoon fed. he'd be an upgrade, but they should look elsewhere first

Why should the Cavs buy out Baron? He's going to be a great mentor to Irving.

they arent going to get another player. jr is the only player i can think they should look at. i mean mayo would be best but i doubt they get him.

either way, i dont give a rats ass where rip ends up as long as hes outta here. but i dont just wanna give him away with our pick unless we get a player in return. and he better be worth it.

You couldn't be more wrong.

Exactly. We need a SG that can create for himself and handle the ball, not another guy that can't create his own shot (definitley no catch and shoot guy).

Rip is a hybrid between Korver and Deng pretty much (corner 3 is the Korver)
they dont need another one of those.
he wouldnt have helped much in this series imo. it would have still ended in 5

OJ is perfect. I think JR would be good too(lol he just got arrested in miami)
or how about a reuniting BKS. Jamal o_O

Agreed and Byron Scott likes to run two PGs at the same time so Baron will still get a lot of minutes.

Difference between a guy who can create his own shot and a ball-hog, OJ is a ball-hog.
