WWE announced that a traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match will be taking place at the Survivor Series event this Sunday:
 
One of the hallmarks of WWE’s fall classic — the Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match — will take place this Sunday, live on WWE Network at Survivor Series, WWE.com has learned. The match participants are not yet known at this juncture.
 
A staple of Survivor Series since the inaugural event in 1987, the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match is the ultimate battle of survival. Superstars can be eliminated individually via pinfall, submission, count-out or disqualification, and once a competitor is ousted, he must abandon his teammates and return to the locker room. The bout can only end when an entire team has been eliminated.
 
With the semifinals of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament now set, the WWE Universe is left to wonder which 10 Superstars will forge alliances and enter Atlanta’s Philips Arena to compete in Survivor Series’ namesake match this Sunday.

* Miz TV opens up this week’s SmackDown. Kevin Owens interrupts and then Alberto Del Rio with Zeb Colter interrupt as well. Del Rio and Owens end up having a face off. Dean Ambrose comes out, followed by Roman Reigns. Then R-Truth. Miz reminds Truth he isn’t in the tournament. Ambrose ends up knocking out The Miz with a punch. The others clear the ring and the segment ends with Reigns and Ambrose standing tall.

Backstage Heat on Lana Over Twitter Drama
As noted earlier, Lana and Paige exchanged blows on Twitter. At one point during the exchange, Lana accused Paige of bullying her while in NXT but both Summer Rae and Rob Naylor defended Paige on Twitter.
 
Lana wrote, “I actually wanted to write a longer paragraph about you. We both know you bullied me in NXT.”
 
One source noted to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they weren’t happy with Lana, and haven’t been since she went public with her engagement that screwed up their storyline with Rusev and Summer Rae.

BREAKING: Another Former Impact Wrestling Star Spotted At NXT Taping Site



 


Former Impact Wrestling / Ring Of Honor star Austin Aries was just spotted arriving at Full Sail University, the location of tonight’s NXT TV tapings. 
 
Austin Aries, who has worked for both ROH and TNA this year, briefly stopped to sign autographs on his way into the venue. While he is present, his role is unclear and it is not confirmed that Aries will be used in an on-air capacity. 
 
Due to TNA previously taping World Title Series matches over the summer, Aries is currently still appearing on Impact Wrestling on Destination America in the tournament.
