Vince Denies Top WWE Star Heel Turn, Backstage News on Kevin Owens
- WWE is obviously going with a babyface Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt but it’s worth noting Triple H has reportedly pushed hard for a Reigns heel turn. However, Vince McMahon was not on-board.
- Both Vince and Triple H are said to be in agreement that NXT Champion Kevin Owens is more than ready, which is why he’s been fast-tracked to the main event on the main roster. It’s worth noting that at Money In the Bank, Vince wanted John Cena protected while Triple H wanted a referee stoppage due to the powerbomb on the apron.
Big Tag Match Main Event Revealed for Monday’s RAW
WWE announced that Roman Reigns will team with Dean Ambrose to take on Kane and Seth Rollins in the main event of Monday’s episode of RAW.
It was almost a foregone conclusion that Brock Lesnar would dismantle Seth Rollins to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WWE Battleground. However, The Architect changed many a mind last week on Raw, when he mended fences with his Authority allies and brutalized The Beast Incarnate.
Now that they have successfully transformed the unstoppable Anomaly into an underdog, The Authority’s two heavy hitters, Rollins & Kane, will put their combined skills to the test against Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns in the main event of Raw.
Heat on TNA Management for Bringing Back Jeff Jarett
eThere appears to be a lot of heat towards TNA management regarding the decision to call back Jeff Jarrett to the company after spending the better part of the past 18 months burying him like he was public enemy No.1.
As noted earlier, there were rumors that TNA would be running with a GFW invasion angle. Many feel that they could have used Tommy Dreamer’s company instead, which at this point is far more successful than Jarrett’s company, has more bigger name talent, and Dreamer works for TNA.
Backstage News on Austin Aries, James Storm & Magnus’ Status with TNA
As noted earlier, James Storm and Magnus’ contract with TNA Wrestling end after Sunday’s Slammiversary event. Both men reportedly went to management and asked to be let out of their deals because the company is running less shows now, which means less money.
TNA management understand the reality that the company faces, less dates equal less money for the talents, so they let both men out of their deals. At this point, TNA is a wrestling company that produces a TV show as opposed to being a full on wrestling company with live events and they are changing the way they operate to reflect the new reality of what their business is.
Both men have the opportunity to come back and work the tapings and be members of the promotion’s TV shows, while at the same time they are able to book outside of TNA. If WWE wanted to make a play for either man, they could do so and TNA realizes that.
Austin Aries contract with the company expires after Slammiversary, so he will be in the same situation as Storm and Magnus. TNA doesn’t have the revenue it once had in the past, so they won’t be in any position to offer guarantee contracts moving forward.

Kurt Angle Has a Neck Tumor
Our correspondent at tonight’s Impact Wrestling tapings mentioned that Kurt Angle came out for a segment and announced that he has a tumor in his neck that will require surgery and will be taking some time off.
After he made the announcement, EC3 came out and attacked him and Melendez attempted to make the save, however Carter delivered a pile driver to Melendez on the floor.
With the attack following the announcement, this could be storyline, but we can’t confirm at this time. It’s been well documented that Angle has had neck injuries in the past. Before Angle made the announcement, he did mention that he will get his rematch against EC3 some time in the future.

In a week which seems to be bringing an endless stream of bad news for TNA, the latest is that wrestling magazine Pro Wrestling Illustrated has announced that it will no longer be recognising the TNA Title as a World Championship.
In layman’s terms, Pro Wrestling Illustrated is one of the biggest pro wrestling magazines in the world. It’s highly respected within the industry, and its annual “PWI500″ is an official indication of the best wrestlers in the world. By announcing its intention to drop TNA’s top title as an official World Heavyweight Championship, this is perhaps a much bigger indication of how the promotion is perceived within the industry than anything else so far.
It’s been a terrible week for TNA, PR wise. Several of their big stars are no longer contracted to the company including Low-Ki, Magnus, Austin Aries and James Storm, with other wrestling news sources speculating additional names too (although as of this time they remain unconfirmed). TNA Slammiversary was marred by audio production issues, the company informed production staff that they are 2 months behind on pay and former TNA Champion Eric Young let out a fouled mouthed outburst to fans on Twitter after the show, which was quickly deleted.
Further to that, the biggest talking point on TNA TV this week doesn’t even concern them, but instead the focus has been of Jeff Jarrett and his new Global Force Wrestling promotion.
With this latest news of TNA no longer having a recognised World Heavyweight Championship, and talent no longer having guaranteed contracts and being allowed to work wherever they want, it effectively makes them an Indy promotion.
We’ll be monitoring the situation further, as potentially we could be embarking on a massive couple of weeks for TNA.
