Report: CM Punk gone from WWE after telling Vince McMahon he was going home

This doesn't sound good at all.

Trouble in paradise.

Just one night after he was the Iron Man in the Royal Rumble match, lasting some 48 minutes from the number one entry spot, CM Punk wasn't booked to appear on Monday Night Raw.

This was due to a number of rewrites demanded by Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon.

Now comes a report from the Wrestling Observer that says Punk told McMahon that very night that he was going home before doing just that and, as of right now, he is off all WWE shows going forward.

There isn't any information available outside of that right now. Punk hasn't tweeted anything out since praising fans following the Royal Rumble event this past Sunday night in Pittsburgh.
Stay tuned for any further news, as we know how quickly things can and do change in the world of WWE.

From what's coming out is that he isn't happy with the booking in WWE right now and especially how Batista ended up coming back 4 years later to win the Rumble and headline mania. When there are guys on the roster who has been working non stop that deserve that spot.

Former WWE Champion CM Punk is taking an indefinite hiatus from WWE.

Punk met with Vince McMahon on Monday before RAW and informed him of his decision to take time off. Punk’s WWE contract expires in July and has been very vocal about the possibility of leaving for good this summer. We’re told that his decision to leave is not due to an injury, but because he is unhappy with the handling of his character and the overall direction of the company.

Punk had been scheduled to wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania, but is no longer expected to work the show and is no longer advertised for any upcoming live events. He’s stated in multiple interviews that his one remaining goal in WWE was to main event WrestleMania. In recent months it became clear that he was not going to be part of the main event this year.

He’s also said to be very frustrated with WWE bringing in part-time wrestlers (The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Batista) and giving them main event programs instead of the guys who have been working full-time for years and giving the company everything they have.

We reported on Monday that WWE had completely overhauled the script for this week’s RAW, which was not completed until an hour or two before the show went on the air. The rewrites were partially due to the huge negative reaction to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, however it was CM Punk’s announcement to management that he was leaving that also caused a lot of
the changes.

There are some reports that Punk was scheduled to wrestle Antonio Cesaro on RAW in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match, which would have seen Cesaro defeat Punk with help from Kane. Punk was not backstage at RAW and he was not backstage at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings

Punk has been working through several nagging injuries over the course of the last year and has overall been very unhappy with the reality that WWE no longer sees him as “the guy.”

CM Punk left because of a concussion

"My info on CM Punk: I do know from sources that at Monday Night Raw in CLE there was heated exchange backstage between Punk & staff. Topic - concussion. Punk was heard arguing with staff saying 'I passed all your damn concussion test' and 'I'm not going out and telling fans that BS'"
- Casey Kulas, an ESPN employee in Cleveland

Too many happening on why he left.

Vince McMahon still following CM Punk

While the official WWE account on Twitter is no longer following CM Punk, the account for Vince McMahon still is. Several other official accounts for the company are still following Punk as well, so this could just be the work of one individual backstage acting out on their own.

Can't imagine it going through Vince McMahon's mind to hop on the twitter and unfollow Punk immediately because he's leaving.

He should just leave. They don't deserve a talent like him if they keep selling him short.

If he leaves now, he can come back in 5 years and be handed a victory in the Rumble.

Smart move by Punk.

Have they set who Taker is going to face at Mania yet? If not, make that happen.

Sting and Taker is not happening this year. Sting is most likely to debut on the Raw after Mania
