The Celtics and Knicks are close to a deal that would bring guard Nate Robinson to the Boston, possibly in exchange for Eddie House, according to multiple sources.
Robinson would have to approve the trade, but sources indicate he would accept a deal to Boston or the Lakers.
New York is uninterested in adding salary for the 2010 season. Boston has the expiring contracts of House ($2.8 million), Brian Scalabrine ($3.4 million) and Tony Allen ($2.5 million).

Close to reducing their luxury tax bill even more, the Wizards are still engaged in trade talks just a few days after agreeing to a seven-player deal with the Mavericks.
Washington reduced their tax bill by $2.5 million this season and $15 million next season with the Dallas deal.
"We still have a lot of conversations going on," Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld said.
"We want to see what this group does. If we don't make a move between now and Thursday, there are opportunities to do things during the summer. That's just life in the NBA. A lot of teams are out there talking, a lot of teams want to make moves. I thought the thing we did is going to be good for our team in the long haul."
The Kings have rejected trade proposals for guard Kevin Martin and co-owner Gavin Maloof tried to but some speculation to rest on Tuesday night.
"We like (Martin)," Maloof said. "We've always liked Kevin. We think he's a big part of what we do. You saw his play these last few games, and he's really come on really strong. We love his play." Sacramento took on Boston, who was rumored to have interest in Martin, on Tuesday.
Jannero Pargo is looking to be traded and the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bulls are trying to grant his request.

A proposed trade between the Knicks and Rockets is losing steam, according to a person familiar with the talks.
"It's less likely than it was on Monday," said the source. "But you never know."
The Knicks are trying to clear as much cap space as possible for 2010.
"The plan was to get as many as we can," Mike D'Antoni said before last night's game against Chicago. "We want to be under the cap as far as we can go to get as much flexibility as we can get. I don't really know what that goes into, but that's the plan and that's what we're going to do. Whether we're there now and that's as good as we can do, then we're there now. Whether we can open up more room, we'll look at it. Nothing's off the table."
Multiple sources claim that Walsh has no intention of trading Jordan Hill.

Get Ridnour!!There has been no serious movement on the Lakers' side in furthering a possible Hinrich deal with the Chicago Bulls, despite both teams' efforts to recruit a third team.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been contacted about facilitating a Hinrich trade, but General Manager David Kahn is hesitant to take on the contract of Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic, even with forward Tyrus Thomas coming into Minneapolis.
However, the biggest issue is that the Chicago Bulls are requiring a mid-to-early first round draft pick in addition to expiring contracts, and Minnesota is unwilling to surrender any of its picks to Chicago unless they receive multiple first round draft considerations from Los Angeles.
Though the Lakers and Bulls have continued to reach out to other NBA teams to assist in a three-team deal, no team is amenable to obtaining Sasha Vujacic. As reported by ESPN's Marc Stein, the Los Angeles Lakers' attempts to acquire Hinrich have stalled because they want to surrender Sasha Vujacic's contract in the same trade.
Hence, negotiations have narrowed down to the Lakers and Bulls. The Bulls have suggested alternate deals that would bring Kirk Hinrich to the Lakers, such as the Lakers sending out Adam Morrison alongside the athletic Shannon Brown and the expiring contract of Josh Powell. However, the Lakers have refused to include the former Slam Dunk participant into any deal.
The Lakers also rejected the Bulls' efforts to trade Kirk Hinrich in exchange for the expiring contracts of Derek Fisher and Adam Morrison, as well as future draft picks. The problematic issue is not the draft considerations. Rather, the Lakers' front office has chosen to remain loyal to Derek Fisher, despite his season-long struggles.
Even with the possibility of Derek Fisher being waived and returning to L.A. in time for the playoffs, the Lakers do not wish to part with the veteran leader. Moreover, the Lakers understand the league will closely examine trades for any inside agreements and would prefer to not be in the same boat as the Cleveland Cavaliers should they trade Zydrunas Ilgauskas in a deadline trade.
The Wizards are still waiting on a firm offer for Antawn Jamison from the Cavaliers.
"The ball is in Cleveland's court," one source told ESPN.com. "If Cleveland comes back with a firm offer based on the potential deals they discussed, I think the Wizards will move Jamison."
At least one potential deal discussed with Cleveland on Tuesday (Jamison and Mike James for Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Jamario Moon) would put the Wizards below the tax this season.

The Sixers will not be sellers at the trade deadline.
"The financial does not come into play," Ed Stefanski said Tuesday. "We're looking for value basketball-wise. We're not looking at trying to help us financially."
Many believe the Sixers should sell off their pieces and rebuild, but Stefanski is not of that mind.
"There are a lot of things you have to think about when you begin dismantling a team like that," Stefanski said. "And you're not always guaranteed that when you dismantle that team and draft at a certain spot, that the player you want is going to be there.
"And the year that you may have that cap space, [there's no guarantee] that the player is going to be there that's going to help that team. There's a lot of questions either way."

Nate Robinson is reportedly on the verge of being traded to the Boston Celtics, according to a report from Alan Hahn of Newsday.
Yahoo! reports that the deal is not official and it likely won't be until Thursday, but that it will probably include Eddie House and a second-round pick, among other pieces.
The Lakers had also been in talks with New York on Robinson.
Larry Coon reports that New York can take in $2,625,223 for Robinson due to the complications of BYC, but since House makes $2,862,000, the Knicks will have to take on more. Conversely, Boston can accept up to $3,677,750 for House, and Robinson would be $4 million incoming. Boston needs to send out more as well.

The Miami Heat have not offered Michael Beasley or either of their two first-round picks in exchange for Amare Stoudemire, according to sources.
"I'm not sure Miami is willing to pay the price for Amare," a Suns source told ESPN.com. "We have to get something for him. We're not giving him away. If Miami gets serious, then I think they would get him. But right now, they are not showing they're serious."
