All of them are better defenders, better floor generals, better passers.

Like I said, you drastically overrate an unproven one trick pony.
I don't think you know what you're talking about. Lillard's assists numbers are similar if not better than Kemba's and Knight's, so I don't know where you get that they're both better passers. Had Lillard played for a school where he wasn't needed to score as much, his assist #s probably would have been much higher than both of them anyways, but they're about the same as is.

I don't know where you're getting the better "floor generals" thing, let's look at a tidbit from Knight's NBADraft.net scouting report:

Not a pure point guard ... Ball handling ability needs a lot of work. His dribble is too high and will be easy to pick unless he improves upon it ... Passing ability is respectable, but not intuitive ... Very turnover prone, especially when trying to create for others ...
Does that sound like a floor general to you? Kemba was obviously a great leader in college but Knight? Stop it.

Also Lillard will be a much better defender than Knight because he's much more athletic and also bigger (weight-wise).

Plus you want to call him a "one trick pony" over and over, it's hard to call him that when he was FORCED to score by his school. This guy is a better playmaker than you give him credit for, I don't know why you're dogging him so much.

And for a guy forced to shoot shots at a high volume, he still had better shooting percentages than Knight, Kemba, and Jimmer.

*waits for you to ignore this whole post and just say "You drastically overrate a one trick pony"*

If you reread my post, you might be shocked that I didn't say any of them were good at it.

Just better. Reading comprehension is your friend!

My point is that Lillard is a better passer than both of them, better floor general than Knight, better defender than Knight, better shooter/scorer than both. He'd probably have been picked #7 if you want specifics.

No he isn't lol. You literally sound like you don't have the first clue what you are talking about.

Lillard isn't a ball hog by any stretch, but he's is not a good passer with poor court vision. He played with something like four or five guys on the team that shot over 40% from three and he struggled getting them the ball where they needed it (accurate or pinpoint passes). He's a bad defender (defensive rating is worse than Jimmer at BYU and the worst of the top PG's in this class by a good margin, actually) and will only get worse in the NBA. He doesn't command the floor at all, he just scores. That's it.

I will give you the fact that he's a better shooter and scorer though. But he's going to come into the league and he'll score the basketball. And he'll have a nice long career because of it, but that's it, he's like a Mo Williams, Luo Williams, Ramon Sessions, Jarrett Jack, etc. The fact that you think he would have been picked before guys like Brandon Knight just discredits your opinion.

Portland will probably take him at 6 and be disappointed when he never lives up to that slot. He'll only be average at getting the ball to LMA in the post and isn't great in the pick and roll.

Lol I sound like I have no idea what I'm talking about? I'm gonna stop you right there because everyone on this board who knows me knows from November-March all I do is watch college basketball non-stop. Based on what you're saying about Lillard I'm guessing you didn't watch him play once this year.

What you are failing to mention about Lillard is that he had the best turnover rate for ANY POINT GUARD IN THE COUNTRY despite how much he handled the ball. He's uber-efficient and a way better passer than you give him credit for. His floor vision could use improvement but in an NBA system where he's not relied on to score as much as he was at Weber State, it should.

He's very athletic (reported 40 inch vertical), and is also very quick, meaning he has the potential to be a good defender in the league. You bring up defensive rating which is a VERY subjective stat. I like it when you're comparing teammates to one-another, but you cannot compare 2 players on 2 different teams to each other; Damian Lillard didn't have Brandon Davies backing him up on drives like Jimmer did, just for example. Lillard was third on his team in DRtg which is high for a PG (for instance Tyler Thornton was Duke's best perimeter defender this year by FAR but finished just 6th on the team), and in watching him play he's a very capable defender who put up solid steals numbers in college.

I just think it's hilarious that you are saying Brandon Knight was sooooo much better him, when virtually all your false complaints of Lillard's game are ACTUALLY true about Knight's! Can you say irony?

I've decided, if MKG and Beal are off the board and the Cavs don't want Drummond, give me Rivers at 4.

Reports say Grizz and Bobcats are discussing Rudy Gay for #2.

And Lillard reportedly has a promise from Portland at 6 and is cancelling workouts.

There is no way the Bobcats trade #2 for Rudy Gay.

Also, am I crazy to think that maybe Waiters has a promise from the Cavs? Why would a guy who could help himself from workouts cancel them for a promise from a team at the back end of the lotto?

My logic may be flawed though, and I would still be surprised if this is the case.

I'd agree, but it's the Bobcats so.

And I sort of agree about Waiters. I thought, Portland maybe? But now they reportedly have a promise out there to Lillard. Toronto is trying to trade the 8th pick, so I think they are off too.

Nobody let me change my stance on Barnes. I'm trying to rationalize the selection because I know it's coming, and I don't want to be as disappointed.

Talk me off the ledge.
