That was a good call on Dragic tho. Phoenix clearly had some doubt on re-signing him.

Bad move on Dragics agent forcing his hand though, the 3 known teams on his list won't give up anything of value now.
Somebody will end up getting a rental..

I'd like to see us get Plumlee though, low risk athletic big, that could be had for pretty cheap

Everything that has come out about Dragic is he would be more willing to stay if they moved Thomas, he wasn't an insurance policy. Not to mention they didn't sign 5'10 PG Isiah Thomas as insurance for a guy who's played SG during the majority of his minutes.

I've always been in the Dragic could stay camp too but they absolutely did sign Thomas as insurance.

Like I said, their 5'10 PG wasn't insurance for their starting SG. If anything he was insurance for Bledsoe who was really rocky at the time and didn't sign for like another two and a half months after Thomas signed. But more likely the franchise was just enamored with the three guard lineup.

He was insurance for both. Bledsoe can guard shooting guards

They wouldn't have signed Thomas if they didn't know Dragic was potentially leaving, because adding him and reducing Dragic's role obviously would not be ideal for him, and only make him want to leave even more as a free agent. Considering his list consists of mostly major markets, they had to know behind the scenes he didn't like being in Phoenix and wanted more exposure/a bigger role.

We are most likely involved just to help out Phoenix gain leverage on other teams

Their GM was our assistant GM. That's why we gave them Wright for basically nothing

Boston will put out a decent offer for him (Bradley+LAC 1st probably), but our intent is probably not to get Dragic/Thomas, but rather to increase the other teams' offers

You aren't going to play Bledsoe off the ball offensively. You're also not ask him to defend SG's for 34 minutes a night.

Because two ball dominant players can't play together, and the suns are incapable of staggering their minutes to give both of them time at the 1.

Suns want the protection off the Lakers first they have, if they move Dragic to LA

Good one.

Don't think I ever said that. But if they move Dragic, you better believe Thomas will see a big uptick in minutes. Gets hard to stagger when two guys are logging around 72-73% of the backcourt minutes.
