I guess I understand why Boston fans like Marcus Smart and hype the shit out of him, but the sudden, random praise for Rozier is pretty damn funny.
But he killed it in the summer league! The summer league!

Horford is who you should worry about. Dude is soft and doubt he makes yall that much better

According to Synergy Sports he was the best player in all of Summer League. Not just Boston, but every team. He seemed so composed on both offense and defense, and played phenomenally well for the SL. I'm not saying he's a star in the slightest, but he's a very quality backup PG and not someone worth getting rid of at all.

You keep saying this, and I've never seen anything posted anywhere online that lists what the Bulls actually wanted in return.  All I've seen is that the Celtics lowballed the Bulls and wouldn't budge beyond a #3 + Crowder package.
Steve Bulpett (an actual reputable Boston reporter, unlike most) reported that the Bulls wanted Crowder and one of Bradley/Smart, as well as the 2017 1st to add to the #3 pick of Kris Dunn of Butler

Yea thats what usually happens. Role players get traded for a franchise player

well a lot of players use summer league as a more advanced practice. so saying so and so was the best across the league isnt a great argument

Rozier played really solid when he came in for Bradley during the Hawks series which is where most of us Celtics fans are happy to see. Now he's played fantastic in summer league (out performing Kris Dunn fwiw) and now he's got a shot to really get extended minutes which will give him more reps. You guys are treating him as a 2nd round pick ... He was pickrd at what like pick 16? Obviously he's talented and coming from a damn good school and coach where he was their main scorer.

Comparing a rookie to a second year player in summer league isn't very fair

Yeah I wouldn't compare Rozier to Dunn at all. You take Kris 10/10 times. It's that Rozier isn't worth not playing for Dunn to be on the roster over Jaylen

Not sure why the Celtics even want to make moves, it seems like they have a stacked roster. Anything less than making the finals this year would be a huge disappointment imo

But he's already better than Patrick Beverley....

His best case scenario is that he actually learns how to shoot consistently, and becomes an All Star level player.
His worst case is that he peaked, and is a Tony Allen-lite defender

his best case scenario is not anything near an all star

If Marcus Smart meets his potential, people will be like, "Michael Jordan? Never heard of him!"

Here is a list of players who qualified with a lower field goal percentage or three point percentage than Marcus Smart:

Lebron was only 10 spots ahead, so it's pretty clear that Smart is very close to reaching Lebron James territory.
