I mean outside of Greg Monroe I haven't seen it done before, but he could have signed his $8m tender and became a UFA right after.

It's risky because you lose financial security, and a career ending injury screws everything, but AD is one of the few players in the league where anything short of career ending would have resulted in a max deal still

Absolutely.

Nola is the only person on this board that wants AD to stay with the Pels (I guess Delirium too but point is understood). But when you sign a huge contract, you can't be upset at your situation a year later.

95% or more of players will accept their RFA maxes every time. There are a group of players that can afford to sign their tender and still get a max contract the year later as a new UFA. Davis is one of the select few.

No player is bold enough to it except for Greg Monroe so far, but he's not the talent Davis is. I agree it's set in poor taste for players to have restricted FA but that's the only thing that keeps shit markets like New Orleans from ever having talented players

has anything come out that has said ad is upset? im sure hes bummed but hes more of a kawhi type player(silent superstar). i dont see him coming out and complaining about his situation. he may in the distant future, but not within the next year or two. thats not to say he isn't saying it privately, though.
