I see very little difference in what the Suns and Celtics can offer. The Suns picks have identical value to the Nets, and neither team has some surefire young prospect they can include that one ups each other.
Celtics in technicality have three firsts in the next two drafts to offer, two of which are extremely valuable. They have the current #3 overall pick who at age 20 looks to be very promising down the line. While a poor shooter, Smart is very young and an already elite defender. And they have $25M in expirings to provide cap relief.

No, Boston isn't offering a Ben Simmons-level prospect for Cousins, or a budding young superstar. But neither is Phoenix

Alex Len is nothing special at all -- a rotational big man -- and is a RFA after this season. While obviously not going to be paid max dollars, he's still not really under contract for long. Warren is a good swing forward -- but he's averaging 13ppg. Nothing special at all

But the bigger point that you seem to be missing -- Cousins is entering his final year on his contract after this season. Boston is currently in 2nd place in the East, Phoenix is last in the West. Obviously Cousins doesn't have a NTC, but his expiring deal somewhat acts as one. If Cousins won't re-sign in Phoenix, then the Suns should absolutely not trade away a Top 5 pick in this year's draft. And even if he does re-sign, how is this team that much better than what he had in Sacramento? He's a fan favorite in SAC, beloved by the city -- but Phoenix? Why?

Booker but I doubt the Suns would go that far

PHX has more in the way of prospects, BOS has more in the way of picks.

PHX likely more willing to spend.

I don't care about the bigger point, you said they can "absolutely" top it. I don't believe that.

Explain to me how Jaylen Brown is more valuable than Marquese Chriss. Because the Celtics reached for Brown at #3 instead of Chriss? Hell, Chriss is having the better season too.

Interesting that you would call two other players nothing special, while trying to sell me on Marcus Smart being a good part of an offer. I don't care how good you are defensively, you aren't valuable to me with the shooting numbers he has consistently put up.

And we haven't even mentioned Dragan Bender, who like Chriss, I believe also has more value than Brown

I actually didn't realize everything Phoenix had.

I don't necessarily believe either has more value, I just don't see how someone could think Brown has all this value, and act like those two guys are somehow below him

I wouldn't say Chriss has more value than Jaylen. Bender I'll give to ya (as equal to Jaylen), although I think he's being terribly miscast in Sacto -- but again I was just saying Boston could easily top that offer that the Kings were looking at

Sure if Phoenix wanted to move Booker, Bender, Chriss, and their next two 1sts the Celtics aren't going to beat that deal. But Phoenix would be dumb as fuck to do that in the first place

I'd say Chriss is one half-notch below the other two guys
but that's not my point

I'm comparing the current offer that was reported (Len, Warren, 2017 1st) to what Boston can offer, and we absolutely can top that. Phoenix could add their guys too, and then its a lot closer of a deal

I read that but don't know what it all entails.

From what I've heard, the plan is to trade the 2018 pick, they have contacted teams about Okafor, Nerlens Noel, Brook Lopez, Nicola Vucecic, and Reggie Jackson. They would also attach either Ajinca or Asik to the pick, most likely Ajinca.

They would then stretch Asiks remaining two seasons, and move the 2017 pick closer to the draft depending on where the pick lands for yet another "young vet.". Jimmy Butler if they land a top 3 pick, or guys like Fournier or Hezonja if it's 6-10.

You then have a young team that should make the playoffs and has room to get better. They wouldn't compete for titles, but then again this franchise couldn't careless about that.

Apparently they're asking for a lot though.
