And they should center the team around an injury-prone big man who's on the wrong side of 30 and expiring? Harden was second in the MVP voting last year IIRC and is 26 years old. He's a bonehead but he still gives them 28, 7, and 6. I don't think his style of play is necessarily conducive of winning, but he's still a top fifteen player in the league, which you need to win. They can't just dump him

I think Harden could absolutely be the #1 guy on a great team, but Howard is like the exact opposite type of player you want as your #2. Maybe not skill wise but absolutely personality wise. He's the wrong kind of of strong personality that Harden needs with him.

Apparently Celtics are trying hard to get Love in a 3-way (pause) where the Cavs would receive Ryan Anderson, among others

Assets!!!!

It is kinda crazy though how quickly he fell off. He was solid as fuck the last couple years.

that kind of seems like a lateral move, no? other than straight up getting out of loves contract.

"Getting out of loves contract" is making the assumption it's a bad contract, which is most definitely is not under the exploding cap for the years coming

Yeah Ryan Anderson will probably be making more money than Love next year.

thats from a sherrod blakeley

Dude is absolutely awful with this shit; trying to speculate news and rumors for page clicks.

I can guarantee you the conversation of Love for Anderson was never discussed once. Cavs are interested in Anderson, but as a bench player and not to replace Love

Also saying it now, so that y'all won't attack me tomorrow

Celtics aren't getting a trade off. At least not a big one; maybe something small like trading David Lee for another poor contract and a 2nd, idk. We aren't getting Horford or anybody else significant

I would love to be wrong here, but I think we're sticking it out

If I was the Celtics I'd put all my eggs into the Blake basket in the summer.

him or boogie, yeah

I've been in the mindset for a while now to trade that Brooklyn pick. If we get screwed in the lottery, that pick could have little value. Even if it is #1, I would rather have proven talent like Blake over Simmons

Why would either of those teams trade for that pick before the lottery though? You did just say you'd still be fine with moving it if it's #1 but you also made it sound like you want to trade it in case it drops.

Teams want that pick, badly. We've already declined Houston and Atlanta's offers for including it, and reportedly will only offer it for Blake (although I assume for Love or for Cousins we would too if we could)

All I meant is the longer we hold it, the lower in value it will be. Sure, it contain value and be #1 or #2. But odds are it won't so I want to move it while the value is high. And teams that are willing to trade their established stars and want the pick in return, like Atlanta, would love to get that pick whenever
