How Can We Improve SI?

Suggestion: Create a Movies subforum. Move that, the TV Shows and Music subforums to The Lounge. Get rid of Entertainment since it's 95% Movies anyway.
 
If  not, at least merge the gaming and the Entertainment forums.

This may have been discussed but can we get seperate conference forums? The NBA News one for example, it has way to much going on.

For example, it has:

Valanciunas signing his extension
An article about the Spurs
Most hated player
Embiid out for the season
ESPN Summer Forecast
Markieff Morris wants trade
New jerseys for this season
New Raptors jerseys
Exum tore ACL
Lawson trade to Houston

It's just a HUGEEEEEEE clutter

FWIW, I'm still a fan of seperate "News" and "Discussion" forums.
 
Put signings, trades, injuries, announcements etc. in the News forum and put articles and general topics that ask for our opinions in the Discussion forum.

Does anyone know how I can take off the "filter by forum"? It won't let me toggle it off.

I would move all those to entertainment and then put it at the bottom. Then move the lounge up to the front office section

I had this same problem. Click on filter by forum and at the top of the pop up window there should be an option to "view content from all forums" or something like that.

I could just make Gameday a "Discussion" forum and in the FOrum description put in "General Discussion & Gameday THreads" - because now that I think about it, gameday doesn't need its own section - there won't be that many topics.

but I feel like Entertainment (movies) and video games are part of "lounging". Thats why I decided to give those topics their own area and see if that works.

The reason why I said remove the Entertainment one is because there isn't going to be any topics in it when we have subforums for Games, Music, Shows and Movies. That's why I'd put it in the Lounge alltogether

I can move them back to the front office too. Not a big deal. Just wanted to see if it looked better having that stuff separated from the Front Office (Introductions, Milestones, Announcements). We'll keep it for a week or so then decide if we should re-arrange it to something else, or revert to the previous set up. Originally i was just going to move the sports sections around, but figured while I was at it... 
 
Also changed NBA's Gameday to "General Discussion" with the description: Articles, Gameday Threads & Opinionated Topics For Members To Discuss
 
How's that look?

Current set up is not set in stone, so we may be making minor changes over the next week or two, taking sections out, adding new sub-forums, renaming forums, etc. Nothing major.

I highly suggest a Politics and Religion forum, along with a General News forum. Obviously, a disclaimer would be needed that you can't wear your beliefs on your sleeve and take it out on other posters, but it could drive discussion and would give us an obvious place for such topic material.

Well I'm one of those people who doesn't want to separate stuff too much.

But I do want to see what others think of possibly adding those subforums.

Relgion forum doesn't seem necessary, as there is never that kind of talk here anyway. Politics would be fine, but I think that could just kind of fit in with a "General News" or "World News" section
