How Can We Improve SI?

Unfortunately we can't upgrade to the new version. It requires different software on our server, and this site is on the same server as a few other sites our owners run, and it would cause issues.

Which is too bad. I've seen the new IPB and it's phenomenal.

 
So why don't the new owners just update the whole server? That would seem like the logical thing to do instead of using this stale set up.

The other forums they have on this server aren't compatible with the software required to upgrade ipb. If we did it, those other forums wouldn't be able to run.

We have recently discussed other options so we'll see what happens in the coming weeks.

It's either Xenforo or nothing happens and stick with ipb because we're used to it. There is a 3rd option but it's probably a long shot.
