Potential HOFers if they finish what they have started:
Ryan Howard/Prince Fielder (IDK if both will, but feel one of them will)
Miguel Cabrera
Hanley Ramirez (could hit 300 HR, 500 SB, with high average... but the kind of guy that can lose interest and just stop playing so well)
Adam Dunn - no steroid rumors, really consistent and can end up with a ton of HR... But this is an era where everyone hits homers.
Joe Mauer - what he's done as a catcher so far is ridic
Roy Halladay - stats don't jump out at you, but has been one of the best in the era.
CC Sabathia - his ERA should be going down, because he's been under his career ERA every year for like 6 years now and a bunch of Ks/wins - still only 30.
I still think he will get in. Nothin big has came out about him so i dont think it will affect him.Canseco said he introduced roids to him, Palmeiro, and Juan Gonzalez.
Also side-stepped the question of if he ever used by saying that only God knows
Look at David Wrights numbers in comparison to other 3rd baseman who have made it to the HOF. He is right there with the best of them, I even posted an article comparing all the stats and he is in the top 10 in many categories in comparison to other 3rd Baseman in the HOF. He has hit above .300 5 out of his full 6 seasons, so he will definitely keep that up since he has recovered from that Citi Field thing. He doesnt need to hit HR's either considering the ballpark that he plays in. His defense is a little above average I agree with that. And he has 4 seasons with a higher OPS than Longoria. He also gets like 20+ steals a season which Longoria doesnt.Wright will be lucky to hit 450, and he won't keep his avg over .300 his whole career. His defense is not otherworldly, and it has to be to push people up into the hall. He doesn't step out above the guys he's playing against. Hell, Longoria has a better shot than he does.
Ok, he might not stand out like other MLB players. But once its all said and done, everything considered based upon the demanding position he plays he will be in the HOF. That might be my homer in me cuz I love David Wright, but the dude has great numbers when compared to all the other 3rd Baseman HOF'ers. Making it to the HOF as strictly a 3rd Baseman is extremely tough.I already said that he is better than them (with the exception of Longoria, who has only played 3 seasons and his stats don't add up just yet)... My point was that he doesn't stand out when compared to his peers, and it's true. David Wright is not a HOF player. Period.
