You aren't getting it.

Being waived= getting $5m from Boston plus whatever he gets from LAC
Being amnestied= getting $15m from Boston (which doesn't count against the cap) plus whatever he gets from LAC

Again, how is being waived better than amnestied?
we get it. he doesnt. he sees it as amnesty is like admitting a mistake.

no there wasn't

It has always been retire now, stay one more year and retire, or traded to LA (his hometown). We were never gonna cut him if Doc didn't go to LAC

idk who this sideline reporter dickerson is, maybe he's a hack

The lone year remaining on Pierce’s contract can be bought out for $5 million. Asked whether he believes the Celtics will trade Pierce or buy him out, Dickerson said: “One way or the other. Probably a buyout. More than likely a buyout.”

but there WAS talk a few weeks ago at least

Greg Dickerson is a great reporter

And the question was trade or buyout, and yeah obviously a buyout is more likely. But an amnesty is what would happen

Doc Rivers has not ruled out taking time off from coaching for a return to his broadcasting career and returning afterward to coaching, according to a source.

"You guys (media) have been around Doc long enough to know that's always been something he's talked about," the source said. "So it shouldn't come as a surprise.
"And frankly, now is probably as good a time as any for him to go that route."

The reported deal between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers -- in which Rivers would be freed to coach in L.A. -- has stalled.

I don't see why there is a holdup

Cp3 said he'd go back to the Clipps if they got Doc/KG/Paul. They don't need Bledsoe; the Lakers aren't moving Dwight to the Clipps, so send him [bledsoe] to Boston with Dre, Willie, and Caron, and this years 1st, and we'll give you KG, Jet, and Court, amnesty Paul, and give ya Doc

While the Clips have the leverage in Doc negotiations, Celts can use CP3 as leverage for them

Bledsoe can start at SG (Probably not, but he's a freak)

Why trade him if they don't have to? And it looks like they don't.

Marc Stein: Sources tell ESPN it's been communicated to Celts & Clips that league has questions about proposed deals and appearance they are connected
Marc Stein: NBA rules prohibit any trade/signing being made w/contingencies or side deals. Can Celts & Clips prove Doc & KG deals are "separate" moves?

yeah... just do kg for deandre straight up, and then trade 2 1sts for the rights to doc rivers. that way, it is separate deals

Or the NBA can stop being dumb, cause it's going to happen anyway.

Deals should be allowed to be contintigent on one another.
