Denver is doing something big. If they get Talib, Ward, AND Ware? My god.

Ward is really good in the box at safety, but how valuable is that in today's NFL? Not doubting his ability, he's a great player, just seems like he entered the league at the wrong time.

Isn't tat a big overpayment for Talib? I mean, didn't this guy play minimal games?

It's a drastic overpay in my view

It's a significant overpay

NE offered around 4/$31 from what I heard

But it's worth it to Denver. Elway wants to get Peyton a ring. Belichick wants to win without sacrificing the future

Wanted him in washington, but at that price, I'd rather continue to have the league's worst defense.

That's a lot of money.

I have a feeling that Seattle success is leading to some of these secondary guys getting overpayed.

Could be totally wrong tho.

Seattle's success is going to lead to their own undoing in the future.

I just don't see how they keep that team together, even with the cap going up.

In the next two offseasons, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, KJ Wright, Chris Clemons, Cliff Avril, Byron Maxwell, Jermaine Kearse, Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith, Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Russell Okung, Zach Miller, Brandon Mebane, Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, and Jeremy Lane will need new contracts.

Thomas to Smith in that list above need new deals next offseason, and Wilson to Lane need new deals the offseason after that. That's not including guys who need new deals this offseason, or the guys that haven't emerged yet. You're looking at making probably nine of those sixteen guys on that list among the highest paid at their positions. I just don't see how it's financially possible.

like i said, they take pay cuts. huge ones, but they have the potential to win so much it'd override the money.

it won't happen. they're going to lose a lot of players.

I think you'll see them deal a lot of them for draft picks in the near future.

At least that's what they should do.

Sherman, Thomas and Wilson will get big deals, they'll probably let Lynch walk, they'll find a way to hang on to Wagner, and the rest will either give Seattle the hometown discount, or they'll get overpaid by someone outside of the Seattle system.
