I don't think anyone gives Seattle a hometown discount. That doesn't seem to happen in the NFL, especially on your first big contract.

Especially considering the health risks, amount of non-guaranteed dollars, and vast cuts of productive players.

Most of the guys I left out are guys that likely would only get something in the 4-7 mil per year range, if that.  If Seattle offers you 4, and someone like, say, Oakland offers you 6, I think there are quite a few guys that would be willing to take that slight pay cut to play for a contender.  If not, you let them go and reload.  Guys like Kearse, Wright, etc. are not difficult to replace.  As well as Seattle has drafted in recent years, they likely just draft and plug guys into the three deep to replace most of them.
