The Philadelphia 76ers and Danny Granger have been in discussions on a contract buyout and sources tells RealGM that management has given their complete cooperation.

Granger was traded by the Indiana Pacers to the 76ers at the deadline for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen.

Should Granger receive a buyout, sources tell RealGM that he will likely decide between the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks.

Granger will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

I'm not the biggest basketball fan but I'm surprised how fast Danny Granger fell out of favor in the NBA. Was it injury?

Still don't see why Miami would want him. Cole, Beas & Ray are all better. Granger might be a slight upgrade to Shard, might

Had no problem passing on Bynum, which I stressed from the get-go was the right play

This is the Pacers' plan to destroy the Heat from the inside.

Danny Granger was "pissed" when he learned that he had been traded by the Indiana Pacers to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to a league source.

Granger had spent his entire career with the Pacers' organization.

Many around the NBA expect Granger to sign with either the Miami Heat or San Antonio Spurs assuming he is waived.

"We'll meet with (Danny Granger). ... It's going to be interesting," said Sim Hinkie. "We're going to sit and talk."

Hinkie said that there is a chance that the 76ers will discuss a buyout with Granger.

theyre supposedly close on a buyout

Why doesn't the NBA place these guys in a waiver pool?

They are placed on waivers, but no one is under the salary cap far enough to take on his full salary.

I'm aware, it's hard to put what I'm thinking into words though.

Put in a waiver system where priority is worst to first, and you only pay them the minimum, with the previous team still paying the full contract?
