Wiggins is a SG/SF while Green is a combo forward, they don't even play the same position. Their game-styles are nowhere similar. Looking at simply shooting percentages to make your point is plain lazybosoxlover12 said:Not really
Wiggins was just as inconsistent as Green was this past year. Wiggins had 40% of his games scoring 18+ points and 25.7% of his games scoring 12 or less. Green had 41.4% of his games scoring 18+, and 25.6% scoring 12 or less. Those numbers are freakishly similar
Green was the #5 pick in 07; it's not like he was some potential-less player. He never reached his potential, but had it for sure. Both show the ability to play solid defense, due to their length, and both have similar body types as well. And when Green is on, he's damn unstoppable. The game versus the Heat last year, where he put up 39 points and hit a crazy buzzer beater over LeBron was insane; he clearly has the ability to score a lot every night. Problem is that he is the most inconsistent player in the NBA.
Will Wiggins better than Green? I god hope so. I just think there is a solid chance he ends up similarly to him. One named scout has already said he views Wiggins as a #3 option type of guy, not a #1. Wiggins' college inconsistency scares me a bit. I do believe he ends up becoming a very good NBA player, but you can't ignore the similarities.
