Come on y'all. It might not be a gigantic margin, but Machado is easily the best defensive player on the left side of the infield in baseball (aka best defensive player out of all 3B/SS)

Cmon man. Don't base it off one play.

he still a dwar around 3 or and lead the league among 3b at it. im actually intrigued to see machado healthy to see if he can repeat the defensive season he had in 2013

he covers a lot of groud at third, and he has a cannon of an arm.
plus he saved 20 runs last season. that is not at all below average

in 2012 cabrera had a .966 fp at 3rd, i guess hes miles better than donaldson, too.
Hence why I added in all the other stats too ;)

Fangraph's UZR ratings of 2013+2014 numbers for 3B/SS/2B

1. A.Simmons 40.1
2. M.Machado 37.8
3. D.Pedroia 29.2
4. C.Headley 27.9 (inflated numbers due to multiple teams)
5. N.Arenado 26.7
6. J.Donaldson 25.4

The first 3 were the three guys I would have thought would be at the top. I'd personally say Manny and Pedey are higher than Simmons, but all 3 are easily the best at their respective positions
