According to Chad Ford at ESPN, Pat Riley is discussing a deal that would send the #2 pick and Daequan Cook to the Grizzlies for the #5 pick and Mike Conley.

The Heat would most likely use their pick on Lopez or Love.

I think this would be a great deal for Heat with Marion not opting out. The Heat need a point guard and although Conley's numbers weren't great last year, he didn't get a whole lot of playing time behind Kyle Lowry.

I would take Lopez with the pick. Mourning is retiring after this year and they're going to need a new center who can post up. A starting lineup of Lopez, Haslem, Marion, Wade & Conley seems pretty promising.

The grizz will be nice aswell. Beasley, Gay and Cook. Cook wont be that good i think, but he still will be something. So he should be pretty good, he will definitley will be a nice defender. Plus the Grizz have the 28th Overall Pick aswell right.

Yeah, the Grizz won't be bad but it'll just be like the seasons before. They'll have one all-star who will play there for a few seasons before realizing he wants to play somewhere else.

But....

Things will be looking up for them since they dumped Gasol's contract....plus lets not forget, Marc Gasol will be playing for the Grizz as well this season who totally dominated the euro league he was in last season.

Lowry
Gay
Beasley
K. Brown
Gasol

Not bad, but not great either.

I think they go with:

PG - Kyle Lowry
SG - Daequan Cook
SF - Rudy Gay
PF - Michael Beasley
C - Marc Gasol

Kwame Brown will be coming off the bench, and i think they can bring in a nice FA this season two. So u might wanna watch out for Grizz.

Cook won't start for any NBA team next year.

Gasol probably won't start til he proves himself.

Oh and I think Conley might be giving up too much. Conley is supposed to be our future, but I guess we still do have Lowry and Crit, so I guess I'd be fine if this trade happened. But I'd miss Conley.

if Miami does this, they're dumb --- beasley or rose are difference makers on a team... Conley and Lopez are not

I don't think Marion and Beasley could co-exist so I think the Lopez/Conley package would be more effective on getting them back to the playoffs.....soon.

Ehh I have no idea about this. I haven't seen much of Conley since he was drafted so I don't know what to think about him. I'm not totally sold on Lopez but I suppose he'd be a pretty good center for us. I'd just much rather see Beasley than Lopez but looking at this it would be either Conley and Lopez or Beasley (who would give us a logjam at the PF spot). For now, I'll take this with a grain of salt since there are so many rumors out there. I just hope to see us do well.

The Heat would be making a mistake if they agreed to this.

If they want a PG at 2, draft em at 2. Plain and simple. Who cares what all the "experts" will think. If they believe the player will become one of the NBA's future all-stars. Pick em.

Conley has high value... He went 4th in a draft that is better than the current one...

Conley's stealing skills are already better than most starting PG... He has playmaking abilities, and would work well with Dwyane.

Lopez fills a need at C, it's just that simple.

If they take Beasley, it's just to take the best available.

Doing this trade gives them the best team, by filling 2 needs.

Yankees, this draft is WAY deeper and more talented then last years.

Conley wouldnt have been the #1 PG in this years draft, maybe 3rd or 4th.

Well this is why the lottery is bad. The Heat had high hopes on getting Rose. But then, the lottery ruins it, by having a team that wasn't even close to the worst record get the number 1 pick. So the lottery screws another team again.

I think the lottery is pretty efficient. Chicago winning was a fluke, same with Portland last season. It happens two years in a row and everyone screams that it sucks.

Miami has a shot at the best player in the draft.....since the Grizz have pretty much said they aren't going to trade Conley, I expect either Beasley or Mayo to actually be in a Heat uniform this season.

Conley would've been 2nd, behind Rose...

This draft imo is weaker than last year... Stuckey is better than Westbrook, or just as good, yet Westbrook is rumored to go as high as 6th.

Brook Lopez last year wouldn't have been a lottery pick.

Actually, the Bulls aren't even sure if there taking Rose or Beasley. And i just saw that Heat said they are just as interested in Mayo as they are in Beasley.

Conley was always overrated to me. I would put him behind Bayless and Augustin.

Lopez shouldnt be a lottery pick this year.

I agree with the Stuckey part. But conley at best would have been a top 10 pick not 2 from behind rose. I would rather have Mayo or beasley than Conley.
