Absolutely sick. The players defending him saying they had it done to them as kids is horrible. Like someone said above, just because it used to happen doesn't make it right. We've rightfully progressed to the point where this isn't okay, and it never should have been, how can't these guys see this.

Unfortunately, the NFL is reviewing this under Personal Conduct Policy and not Domestic Abuse.

In a related note, I saw on Twitter that since 06' when Goodell took over, 56 players have been arrested for domestic abuse. Total time in suspensions for the 56 players? 13 games.

How is this man leading the NFL?

EDIT
In case you guys hadn't read, it wasn't only the kid's leg that was like that, it was also his buttocks and back as well.

From the Chicago tribune:

The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. Peterson then texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.”
Peterson also allegedly said via text message to the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I (sic) thigh” and also acknowledged the injury to the child’s scrotum in a text message, saying, “Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!”
In further text messages, Peterson allegedly said, “Never do I go overboard! But all my kids will know, hey daddy has the biggie heart but don’t play no games when it comes to acting right.”
According to police reports, the child, however, had a slightly different story, telling authorities that “Daddy Peterson hit me on my face.” The child also expressed worry that Peterson would punch him in the face if the child reported the incident to authorities. He also said that he had been hit by a belt and that “there are a lot of belts in Daddy’s closet.” He added that Peterson put leaves in his mouth when he was being hit with the switch while his pants were down. The child told his mother that Peterson “likes belts and switches” and “has a whooping room.”

I'd ban him for a year and leave it up to teams after that if they really want to conduct business with a guy like this, and face the blowback.

Shouldn't be up to the NFL, he should go to prison.
I have a hard time believing that he'll be convicted on the reckless injury charge, which is the more serious one. I imagine he'll plea out on the negligent injury to a child charge and get probation.

Based on the text messages sent to the child's mother, the reckless injury charge won't get serious consideration from a jury/judge, especially in Texas.

This won't be resolved for a while regardless.

I understand the lack of discipline in some cases, such as Greg Hardy's, because nobody on Earth who hears the facts from that case understands the guilty verdict, but the Ray Rice and AP situations are pretty cut and dried. Indefinite suspensions.

What's the deal with Hardy's situation? I haven't heard anything out of that one.

A woman who was at his home (who claims to have been his girlfriend at the time, which I think he denied) claims he picked her up and slammed her onto a couch. He says she was high as a kite and that they had to restrain her so she wouldn't hurt herself any further. He made the 911 call and everything. I believe his guilty verdict was handed down by a female judge. It's all fishy as shit, so that's why the NFL is waiting to see what else comes of it.

Do you listen to yourself when you talk about women? Your takes on them are usually horrendous, and come off as incredibly sexist the majority of the time. You're always ready to toss blame their way.

Yeah, no.

He threw her into a tiled bathroom (which she can prove from the bruises on her body, from head to toe), and started to strangle/choke her, while saying he was going to kill her. When he loosened his grip slightly and then got up off of her, and she then said as much as she could, "Just kill me now" or something along those lines.

She then retaliated as much as she could, which led Hardy to call the cops (possible coverup)

Thats the story at hand. And based off the information given to the public, Hardy is guilty as fuck (which is why he's a DNP)

The victim's statement

"Greg Hardy attacked me in his apartment. Hardy picked me up and threw me into the tile tub area in his bathroom. I have bruises from head to toe, including my head, neck, back, shoulders, arms, legs, elbow and feet. Hardy pulled me from the tub by my hair, screaming at me that he was going to kill me, break my arms and other threats that I completely believe. He drug me across the bathroom and out into the bedroom. Hardy choked me with both hands around my throat while I was lying on the floor. Hardy picked me up over his head and threw me onto a couch covered in assault rifles and/or shotguns. I landed on those weapons. Hardy bragged that all of those assault rifles were loaded. Landing on those weapons bruised my neck and back. Hardy screamed for his administrative assistant (Sammy Curtis) to come into the room and hold me down. Hardy and Curtis then took me into the living room area. I wasn't nearly strong or fast enough to escape. I begged them to let me go and I wouldn't tell anyone what he did. They took me out into the hall, pushed me down and went back inside his apartment. I crawled to the elevator and ran into CMPD."

There was also a 3rd party who made the original call to the police, and incriminated Hardy.

I had not heard any of the victim statements, or anything. All I'd heard is information that must have come from bad sources.

My posts only look bad because of our hyper sensitive society. I am not even remotely sexist (I would actually call myself feminist [yes, men can be feminists, too]. I advocate women's rights pretty openly. I just don't shy away from speaking truthfully when it matters). I call it objectively based on information I'm given. Now that I've seen that victim statement, obviously there's some credence to her claims and I hope he faces real justice.

You don't call it objectively. If you aren't fully aware of the topic/subject matter, or the topic itself is somewhat unknown, you ALWAYS suspect foul play on the woman's part.

The majority of people that refer to society as hyper sensitive or just use terms like sensitive or politically correct are white males, because they're the only group in the United States that has never been discriminated against in the United States.
