By saying this you deny somebody their rights to express an opinion. Just because the subject is so clear to you that you think it has to be a fact doesn't mean it actually is. 
Marriage is a thing made up by humans and those humans are entitled to their opinions as to who can participate. 
 
Even if an opinion is so ridiculous and so shitty that it violates human rights and ethical codes and whatever, it can't be wrong in a factual sense. Opinions are right or wrong based on how a person conceives them.
 
And regardless, it would be hard to draw a line as to which opinions are actual facts and which aren't.

Think of how dumb they looked back in the 60s by not giving blacks equal rights. Whole Jackie Robinson story (along with others of course) and it makes you think "wow, why were they given no rights at all?"

No. The fact is that gays will not get the same rights allowed to married couples if they're not allowed to marry, and therefore it is wrong--it's prejudiced toward a significant group.
 
These are facts, and that's why it's a fact opposing gays' right to marry is wrong.

I personally am fine with what AP said. I support gay marriage but I'm okay if others don't support it -- what I hate is when people use the bible to say that they will burn for eternity or that allowing gay marriage will lead to allowing beastiality and just ugh all this other shit. that's the stuff I hate to hear. 
 
For one, my Aunt is a lesbian. unfortunately (and this is so wrong to say) her "partner" is not good looking at all. but if there ever is a lesbian wedding I think it'd be real damn interesting to attend. And also, anyone who legitimately hates gay people has clearly never spent time with them. Lesbians are fun to hang out with.

Just because you think it and it's an opinion does not justify it. You can't deny the rights owed to these individuals. You can oppose the practice all you want, but you can't approve of a scenario in which we legislatively deny their rights--that's not an American perspective.

Ah, and there is the false pretense: I do not believe that marriage is a right (though the American government has taken the initiative to ascribe it as one). If we are to look at whether marriage is a right or a privilege (or something else), then we must look at the first institution(s) of marriage and the parameters behind it.
 
Rights are something you are born with, and nobody is born married.
 
So, just because YOU have an opinion, that doesn't mean its correct either. Its our due diligence to find what is morally and ethically correct and enforce that for the good of our nation and future generations.
