You did say elite prospect

So would you even be competing for minutes? I totally didnt process that part after reading what you wrote before haha

If im an elite prospect tho, give me a trash team and let me put that shit on my back
Well on a team like duke or kentucky possibly since they  probably have 1-2 other elite guys.

I dont think guys like zion or rj for example will be fighting for minutes tho

My point is, if im zion or RJ, id never pick duke

It goes both ways. If you go the route of taking your own team and fail (I.e. Ben Simmons, Fultz, Porter), youre just a loser in my book

Whats failing tho? Not making the tourny? I agree

But not winning it all with a trash team would not be failure imo

Thats true. Hard to pin that on Porter since he was injured but yeah I get that.

Also a good point. Plus Simmons seems to be doing fine in the league anyways.

He has Embiid. Couldnt win alone in ncaa, and now we dont know what he’d be doing alone. And i dont think itd be good news

Oh yeah if you put Simmons on like the Nets. He wouldn't be very good.

So is Sexton a loser?
Hes not in the same boat as the three examples I named, no

But youre not looking at the other end of the coin. The top recruits who are going to the non-marquee schools are basically given a free pass all year long because theres no pressure and are shying away from playing in the big games with the bright lights, which is exactly what youre accusing LeBron of doing

Hes the type of guy who needs a good team around him for him to be at his best

Mitchell is a guy who could take a trash team further than simmons because he can carry the load

But then again, Lebron just joined a bunch of trash and wants to take them far, which is respect. Instead of joining a contender (for this example, duke or kentucky)

Same would go for college. Give me a trash team and let me get them far, make it my school forever, let me be the best University of Chicago player ever instead of being just another great player joining the list of other 50 great duke/kentucky players

You feel me?

I feel you, just have a consistent narrative

If you win a title at any school, youre a legend. Hell Duke fans still love Jah Okafor and hes a bum in the NBA haha. Theres no guarantees of winning in college, its too random. Just give yourself a shot.

Plus playing against other lottery picks in practice will help you get more ready for the NBA. Plus I already mentioned the coaching.

Elite Nba players having their own teams and carrying those teams instead of joining superteams has always been my narrative

You know this

Wanna know whats crazy? 1 major injury to just about any team would completely kill them. Warriors would need 2.
boston had 2 of their 3 best players miss the post season stretch, one all year, and still made it to the ECF
