Philly is already talked about as a 2 seed potentially, and that's with LeBron not there. People will naturally say this team is a great team because they took a pretty good team and added an All Star to it. Its the same reason why Boston went from reaching Game 7 of the ECF to unquestionable favorites in the East and a potential threat to GSW -- they add Kyrie and Hayward to that team.
 
LeBron wants to make it show that HE was the reason this team was great. Los Angeles has been awful for five years now, and without LeBron it would be 6 years. Taking this team adds more to his legacy than going to Philly, especially if the end result is GSW winning it anyways. Like you would be shocked to hear that Lonzo Ball is starting in the Finals in the next 3 years, but you wouldn't be if hearing Ben Simmons. Let him show you that he can earn it, not just be given to him

the closing lines (matchups pending) would be best with lebron at the 5 tbh. sure teams could be trying to go to the post with a bigger guy on james, but a lebron iso against a big is much more threatening than the other way around, and also lebron running a 5-out offense takes away a ton of rim protection as well. lebron would force small ball lineups, rather than teams sticking with a big or two.
