So I kind of thought about the whole AD thing, and my initial feelings are pretty much the same. When Chris Paul left I was very upset and placed all of the blame on him, but I place 99% of the blame on the Pelicans this time around. AD is one of those guys that will still be talked about on a regular basis 30 years from now, and the Pelicans couldnt put a better team around him.

Now I do have one issue, one thing I blame him for, and thats refusing to play C earlier in his career. Because of this, the Pelicans went out and gave up a first for Omer Asik, then committed a lot of money to Asik and Alexis Ajinca. They could have used that pick and that money better.

I'm thinking now AD won't get traded till summer. He said he'd play out the year, although he'll probably get boo'd and have to deal with that and the media nightly.
 
But why rush it? LA will still offer the same thing in the summer. Boston can offer. Other teams can jump in. Although it sounds like they are gonna tell teams he'll only sign an extension on the Lakers, but hey maybe some teams will take a gamble like OKC and TOR did.

They should go all in right now and do whatever they can to have an AD-Kawhi-Lowry trio. If Kawhi walks, then they just trade Davis for whatever package is best, or they convince Davis to play with Kawhi in TDot longterm

I heard if the Lakers get AD they won't be able to quite afford a max contract. And if Klay has to decide between a paycut with the warriors or a paycut with the Lakers, I think he'd go with GS.
