1. Nothing is going to happen until the draft has already begun. They will announce Markelle Fultz to the Boston Celtics as the #1 pick, like 99% sure of it.

Maybe Ainge was concerned about Fultz not getting enough opportunity during the season to raise his trade stock higher than it is now as a prospect. But even then the decision seems rushed.

It doesn't seem rushed to me. The Celtics weren't willing to move down that far, so it was either the Lakers or 76ers, and the Lakers weren't going to top that offer. Not to mention, the Celtics likely want to start working on other moves as well, and not wait until draft night to make those calls.
