Nothing screams GOOD IDEA like trading away the best big man in the league who's under contract until 2021 for three good picks and four average picks

For someone who won't be on that team in 1-2 years? Yeah Boston has assets to move.

Paul George will be entering his final year on his contract with his new team by the time Anthony Davis enters Free Agency, and Davis is a lot better than George.

It's completely different

The 3 Brooklyn picks are great assets for teams to acquire. If you're losing your star player to Free Agency in 2018 or 2019, might as well get some of those picks.

If you're not leaving until 2021, and you're a top 7 player in the league, there is zero reason to trade you, no matter the compensation

Holy shit

In 2012, the Sixers made the playoffs as an 8 seed (and beat the Rose-less Bulls in the first round too).

After that year, they've ended up drafting the guy who back in March was considered the #1 prospect. Every. Single. Year.

2013 -- Nerlens Noel
2014 -- Joel Embiid
2015 -- Jahlil Okafor
2016 -- Ben Simmons
2017 -- Markelle Fultz?

I mostly agree for sure, but lets not forget that teams never get equal value for stars these days, boogie for example, so when AD is approaching FA and pellies try to move him, they wont even sniff anything close to such a rebuilding package that boston could give them

FAs will never go to NO, so their best chance to become relevant is thru a draft.

Theres talks that ainge wants to squeeze out Kings 2019 unprotected out of philly too, so i mean nets 18, lakers 18, kings 19 and then some others one plus like jaylen would be a sick package either way u look at it

Pellies will soon be sick of being the 10th seed year in year out with no direction since big FAs wont sign there and gonna have to pull the trigger. The sooner the better bc a package like this one wont come around everyday

Wiggins was the #1 prospect in the 2014 class since his junior year of high school or some shit.

I'm talking about 3-4 months before the draft hype. Embiid was the favorite to go #1 until his foot injury a week before the draft

Nobody had Jah as number 1 in March, Towns hype was crazy starting in like January

At some point they were all #1 prospects, but you could say that for a lot of players

Embiid was not the #1 prospect in March. That hype didn't begin until the tourney ended

It doesnt matter if its March or January or May

They ended up with the guy that at some point in that calendar year was legitimately thought as the best prospect in the draft. For five straight years (if the trade goes through)

I mean I'm shocked beyond belief

Even if you were to do the trade -- why now, and not at the deadline?
