There's a difference between a "super team", and what the Warriors are. They're an unstoppable force that is literally going to breeze through the league for at least the next 3 years

Butler is underrated as fuck.  His advanced metrics last season were elite.  Nearly identical to Lebron's, actually.

It just gets lost in the dumpster fire that was the Chicago Bulls 16/17 season.

That being said, there are very few players in the league that you can build your team around and compete for a title, and those players are not going to be available.

It goes back to my pet peeve of the arbitrary labeling of players - and now teams. Which player is a "star", a "superstar", which players are "great", "good" .. Now we have super teams .. it's undefinable. The Heat were a super team, now the Dubs are a super duper team?
Don't even get me started on the Death Lineup that got beat in the finals. I don't get the urge to put labels on everything that are completely arbitrary.

But you know, a few teams gave them a series like Indy

I'm just being dumb....

Its funny how the term super team has become dirty..

Everyone is distancing themselves from it. Like lebron saying miami wasn't and kd said some stuff too

So as I read more and more about the Celtics/Sixers situation happening, here are my thoughts

1. Nothing is going to happen until the draft has already begun. They will announce Markelle Fultz to the Boston Celtics as the #1 pick, like 99% sure of it. Then if Lonzo Ball is selected by the Lakers, then it'll be announced that the Sixers will take Jackson by request of the Celtics. If LA takes Jackson then the deal would void if Danny doesn't want Ball or if the Bulls/Pacers don't want Ball

2. As i've speculated earlier (could be taken as naivety of being a celtics fan though) this really could be all smoke to bring in trade value for Boston and Philly. The longer this tension exists of the potential Sixers trade the more valuable the #1 pick gets, and increases the number of teams trying to trade up for #3 as well

it's increasing value so the Celtics can finally trade Jae Crowder straight up for Kevin Love

Every team has their flaws. They definitely had a bench though, or at least some decent role players. Ray Allen, Battier, Norris Cole, etc. It's probably just that because the Warriors are on the next level, that people start to think the Heat weren't a super team. But before the Warriors, they were the definition of a super team.

So were the Lakers, Celtics, and Bulls who have won literally half of the championships in the NBA

Pippen was a Top 10-15 player at that time, and Rodman was one of the better bigs in the league. He wasn't an offensive superstar but he was defensively and as a rebounder

Jordan / James
Pippen / Wade
Rodman / Bosh

?eh?

I still wouldn't call them a super-team though. Our definitions must be different. To ME, a superteam is when a bunch of guys collude to play together (08 Celtics, even though it was trades they still conspired to play together, and Heat for example). And I can make an exception when the 2nd best player in the league joins an already 73-win team.

The one thing to keep in mind about Woj and the Celtics -- he's often very wrong about us.
