Betts needs to be better at the plate. At least hes always heated up around this time.
I don't think you see the same Betts we saw last year.  He's not going to be that good every year, so I wouldn't expect it.

so far this season mookie has had more walks than strikeouts. damn lol. he and the rest of the red sox will be just fine.
Have you actually watched this team?  There's no heart on this team at all.  The Yankees are steamrolling over us because they have players that actually want to win.  They're passionate and scrappy and know how to win.

We have bums like Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval who would rather twirl their thumbs for an hour to make a million dollars than to get a damn hit.

And I'm sure I'll get the same heat from Mexi, but that's why the Dodgers never win anything either.  Too many overpaid players who want to play the game for personal stats rather than to actually win.

The Red Sox make the playoffs if the season ends today. Sure they play the WC but they have Chris Sale. Once you're in it's anybody's game. All about getting hot at the right time. They've been better than the Cubs, and I'm still not worried. Baseball season is a marathon

Dude, they're only 3.5 games back in June. With the talent they have, it's highly likely that they'll eventually start stringing in wins.

dodgers overpaid players is a tired argument

Look at their roster. The starting lineup is Forsythe, seager, turner, grandal, agon, bellinger, chris taylor, puig
Who is overpaid?

Bullpen is jansen, and a bunch of guys. No huge contracts out there other than the best relief pitcher in baseball. All home grown or from trades. Sergio romo and his 1mil deal? Lol

And starters is kersh, ryu, mccarthy, wood, hill, maeda, urias

???

The big money guys dont even play. Crawford, kemp, ethier, kazmir, etc. all dead money. The dodgers dont go spending every winter. Never really have

Also last years team was super scrappy. It was a theme. This year too we're full of gamers

Dodgers lose every year cause they cant freaking hit. They need a bat. Or they have their best player(miggy numbers in 2013) hanley get hit in the ribs game 1 to kill our series vs st. Louis

Just because they aren't playing, doesn't mean you can exclude contracts for Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford.

And it's obvious that Puig falls in the headcase category like so many other pre Madonnas.

Their payroll isn't as bad as it used to be a couple years back, but they still tend to invest in many washed up players like they did in the trade with Boston.

Ok what are you even talking about with puig? Hes the best right fielder in the game defensively and is hitting 8th and hasnt complained at all. Hes also making like 6mil. Calm down

The boston trade was year 1 of new ownership
After years of straight up trash. They rightfully wanted to reward the fans. You obviously werent paying attention to the dodgers during the latter mccourt days. I was. It was brutal.

So guess what. They took crawford and becketts contracts just to get agon. Who was very good for us until this season

Hes been great in the community as an ambassador for the dodgers. Theyre not the ones who gave him or the others those contracts

Dodgers havent been wreckless with contracts and youll know that when you think a little harder and research a little more instead of using lazy examples

I know puig is a popular guy to hate. But he's a beast in rf. Easily the best arm. But this year and last hes been amazing in right

Okay that's fine he still doesn't cover nearly the same ground that Betts does and defensive metrics prove that

I have to speak the language if I'm going to get a point across haha. I moreso think they undervalue some guys rather than overvaluing others though

Did Mookie Betts die?

It's not even close.

Edit: Just jumped to a conclusion and didn't see everyone else addressed my point.

Dead money is not the same as "small payroll."  Dead money is actually a sign of inefficiency.  The Red Sox have a lot of it too, maybe even more than the Dodgers, I'm not denying it.

And as for Puig, he's an okay player, though I'm not sure he's the best defensively, but everything he does makes him seem like a little baby.  From everything I've heard, he needs to grow up.  And honestly, he's not as good of a hitter as he was in his first couple of years.  Personally, I think it has to do with his character.

Yeah everyone knows hes not a great hitter and thats why hes been batting 8th all season, even with the 2nd most homers on the team

He was an insane hitter his first two years.  I think his attitude got the best of him and brought him down after that.  That's my personal opinion.

Why has has he played less than 350 games each of the last two years?  I'm just curious.

What does puig have to do with anything though

Ill live with his defense and homers in the 8th hole unless they somehow acquire Braun or JD

Chemistry isn't an issue on this team. Puig has also made great strides in that department

Again. The dodgers always lose because they lack hitting. Pitching is always fine.

Btw im Glad justin turner is back tonight. Talk about a killer
