The thing with the mj vs lebron arguments is everyone always brings up Michael's history. Finals, scoring, mvps. But really its about the 6 rings

Lebron has 3 titles but no one cares

The argument becomes an accomplishment argument. And some people wont ever concede that lebron is more accomplished than michael, and maybe he isnt

The real argument should be skill. Lebron is clearly the better basketball player.

I can argue that the real greatest player ever is Kareem (some may argue wilt but its kareem)

Thats also why kobe gets thrown into this and it becomes a 3-way debate

Because Kobe has his accomplishments as well. Less mvp's than both, but more titles than bron and only 1 less than mj
Also has just about the same skill set as michael so if Michael is in a debate, people love to throw kobe in it too

kobe is a distant 3rd between the 3

Prime lebron could guard 4 positions at a elite-near elite level

More efficient scorer than michael
Better passer
Bigger, faster, stronger
Can play 4, maybe 5 positions

How is this hipster? Im not talking titles or mvp's. Im talking individuals

Lebron plays in an era with spacing, an era with no legit 7 footers in the paint 24/7, without two bigs covering the paint at all times

He wouldnt be doing this in Mikes era

Has to remind everyone how great he is, how he deserves mvp

If you’re great, you dont need to talk about, people know

Dude will never be on MJs level, im really sorry mexi/bnc

And lol at bron clearly being a better basketball player

Not sure whats worse, you saying that or how apparently harden and curry are better basketball players than Durant

Curry is better than durant because he changes the game

And in the past when i put harden ahead of kd, i also said go ahead and flip them if you want. If you want to say kd is better i cant really argue against it

- never had a meltdown like bron in 2011
- has a DPOY
- is an actual closer in the 4th
- more rings
- didnt have laughable competition year in year out and a cakewalk to the finals

I dont need finals or scoring or mvps. Counter these

And kareem isnt the greatest. He needed a guard like oscar and magic for him to be so great. Centers always need a great guard

Only argument you can make is that curry is more important for the gsw system and how they play, thats it

Hes not a better player than KD

Is Lebron even the best closer in the game today? In the 4th quarter would you trust him to deliver over everyone else? Im not so sure

Jordan was definitely that guy

- accomplishment
- this one is subjective as well. Nevermind the fact MJ always had fellow hall of famers and expansion teams out east

i guess you havent been watching lebron. Explains a lot

Even if you dont pick lebron for this weird question, it's because todays players are better
More all time talent than MJ competed against.

Answer this

Would Jordan have shit the bed in 2011 like that, averaging 18 ppg and 2.2 in fourth quarters?

How can your proclaimed goat since 2012 do such a thing

1. I just missed your bullet point
2. Lebron didnt force things when he struggled unlike michael who would have. Lebron had a triole double in those finals
3. Its a mark against lebron, but you can easily find a mark against Michael too. He wasn't perfect

4. Just for laughs, youre asking me a 2011 lebron question while calling him the GOAT since 2012. So it shouldn't even matter lol

I definitely believe if 48 year old Michael Jordan played in the 2011 finals, he would not have averaged 18 ppg

This was kinda fun. Keeps me sharp if i ever need to debate this in real life. Old school debate SI
But usually i hear what someone else says, and its as bad as paulie or worse so i just forget it

But ok no more please. You will never change your mind, but just try and think beyond accomplishments

lebron gets docked for making the finals. Guess he should have been eliminated in the first round more often

15 years each

Mj 6/15
Lebron 3/15

No one shits on him for making the finals, thats great. I shit on people like you who praise him making the finals despite losing

Losing in the first round or losing in the finals is still losing and its not winning

Stop praising him for cakewalking to the finals every year
