Yellow, black, white, blue, green, JJ Redick was a terrible defender at the beginning of his career

Got better as the years went by

I guarantee you watched him play less than 30 minutes in his first three seasons

Coach K players usually play hard on defense
And im not talking about his one and done guys. Jah, kyrie, jabari, etc

even if youre lazy you know redick played defense. He did improve as years went on but stan didnt play him til like his 3rd and 4th year

Lol you can keep pretending to know everything about me tonight

Actually watched a lot of college basketball back in the day and especially duke and who didnt follow redick back then once he came into the league after a great college career? Everyone did. He was a big deal until he fell off. Then resurrected later on

Now since all that is irrelevant anyway, and you just like being the tough guy without much else, lets get to some actual facts

Many times we’ve seen you make fun of Hardens defense and how laughable he is on that side

Advanced stats in check. Harden has never had a lower defensive rating than JJ did at the beginning of his career and the last few seasons. Which should tell a lot right there. Thats actually quite sad

His second year, a busted ass 109.6 defensive rating. Absolutely garbage. His last two seasons, career worse 111.9 and 110.5. His best season at 105.9

To put that garbage in perspective, Hardens worse season ever was at 107.9. Hardens best 102.2

Kawhis best at 94.9

If you want some other players, just let me know

But i guess Harden is just a wack ass defender while Dukes almighty pretty boy was awesome because he played for your favorite team. As Mexi likes to say, quite the selectivity there, tough guy

So youre really going to come this hard with an argument centered around defensive rating?

Anyways, if you want a legitimate response regarding Redicks defense:

His problem has always been foot speed/lateral quickness. Hes never had it and he never will. As his career has gone on, hes gotten smarter as a defender and found ways to make up for it.

When he first came into the league, he wasnt a good defender. But he still knew how to play good team defense, was always in the right spot, played hard, etc. He was in SVGs doghouse, as Mexi said.

I think 07-08 is the biggest example of that. He had so many DNP-CDs that year. Huge drop in minutes. Demanded a trade and they didnt listen. Look at the SGs who played over him too: Maurice Evans and Keith Bogans. Nothing special. Then they drafted Courtney Lee.

Redick is very complementary of SVG now though. Hell chalk it up to learning what it took to be a professional.

I am

Theres a reason OKC give up 12 more points with Andre off the floor

Theres a reason Warriors are worse defensively with Draymond off the floor

It doesnt lie as much as people want it to lie to fit their agendas

Andre - 96.4
Gobert - 99.0
Smart - 99.3
Embiid - 99.9
Horford - 101
Covington 101.2
Draymond - 101.4

Isaiah Thomas - 116.2
Jahlil Okafor - 117.9
Derrick Rose - 113
Lavine - 115.4

Its all accurate anyway you want to put it

Theres good defenders and theres bad defenders

Anyway, you just said he wasnt a good defender and got better as his career went on. Exactly what i said so not sure why were here

Yeah, and it's gonna be kind of difficult to get good talent either, given their cap situation and the lack of valuable assets.
the team is what it is. before we had to hope for internal growth but now thats literally all we have to get better

Mexi and I both said that actually. Quit being such a fucking drama queen

And anyone with a brain knows d rating isnt a credible stat to compare two people on different teams. Are you really that dumb?
