it has nothing to do with me being a homer. ive said from the draft scouting time, i think tatum could develop into a melo type of scorer, which i think is better than anything ingram could develop into. ingram can be a good scorer and great defender, but i don't think he'll ever be a great scorer while i think tatum can be a great scorer and a good defender

I dont think tatum will reach that peak, not without bulking up and taking smarter shots, but quit fucking calling me a homer and then saying the warriors shouldnt be favored over houston.
Ingram is also able to play point

No one is saying Tatum sucks. Melo type scorer? I mean he's only a rookie so I'm not going to dismiss anything

But ingram has been growing a lot. He's slowly becoming a star and he's only 6 months older

I think it's pretty clear his ceiling is higher. You even said in your other post he's most likely to pan out but you just wanted to throw in some Boston bias and I'm ok with that.

Btw happy bday Tatum. March 3

Also Houston has a better record than gsw last I checked

That's with Chris and James missing extended time too

Gsw still is fav. Never said they weren't

Just saying Imo Houston isn't losing to Nick young, javale and David west

the style of play is very similar to young melo. post fades (in college, hasnt done it in boston yet), pull up mids, lengthy finishes, knockdown corner threes... plus his duke stats are very similar to melos @cuse

hes got one less year of pro experience than ingram. like, its not even a question that 17-18 Tatum > 16-17 Ingram. And seeing how Jaylen had a big jump in year 2, I could see Jayson doing the same

The reason I said Ingram will probably end up better is solely because Jaysons decision making on offense is just really young. Hes not reading much, that hes on a path to either iso mid pull-up, left handed reverse lay, or catch and shoot 3. Great players can adapt to the defense and change their play. Like, Id love to see Tatum planning on driving, and instead of going for a crazy contested layup, just spin away for the fadeaway. Ingram is showing his ability over the past month while running point that he can change what hes doing and be less predictable, and thats a good thing. If Tatum can learn to do that well, hes going to be better
