tbh I think they should. they peaked last year and barely missed out to the celtics to make the ECF. Boston and Toronto got better while the Wizards stayed constant. Due to the Otto Porter contract, they have no flexibility for improving their roster.
 
We knew it would happen, but imo this is the first real case of showing how the jump in the salary cap would screw up teams' futures. The Wizards are unlikely to be bad enough to get additional talent in the draft, don't have the money to sign FAs, and don't have valuable trade assets to get you more talent. They can't get better as a team currently constructed, and they maxed out as "can't win the ECF".
