Nobody expected the Mozgov signing, but the market dictates everything and the Lakers wanted to get a decently quality big (to their standards) before the prices got really high.

Moz didn't set the market, Joakim Noah's $72M did. If Joakim got $18M apy, you don't think Ezeli and Biyombo are going to be asking for a lot more -- in the $20M+ range? Boban will be around the same paygrade as these guys too, and he probably wants to see if SanAn will match so he's gonna take his time.

The lakers wanted to get a solid quality big man, again to their own standard of quality, before the market got ridiculous. $16M apy is going to be nothing when we see Biyombo get $85M in less than a week

At least Biyombo is getting paid for something he has done within the last 12 months

It's amazing how dallas always misses
their recent hits went to Matthews coming off an ACL injury and the max
And a Chandler Parsons max that was very short lived

I mean true, but LA didn't want to get into a bidding war. Mozgov was the only one willing to sign right away. And I'd rather have Moz+$20M than Biyombo, personally

Biyombo is still worse offensively than Mozgov is, and I'd rather save the cap space for additional talent personally. I wouldn't want either of them for the production they give.

If you're willing to give Biyombo $21M apy, then why not give Dwight $24M?

I'm giving 23 year old Biyombo that contract 100 times out of 100 over Mozgov. His offensive game is also horrendous and he isn't as good of a rim protector. Biyombo is already better now than Mozgov ever was or will be...

Agree on Dwight tho.

I feel like Portland is going to make the same mistakes that Charlotte made.

It's great that Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson now have reasonable contracts

Jae Crowder will make $28.2M over the next four years, while Evan Turner will make $70M over the same period of time.

I'm glad we didn't trade Bradley or Crowder at the Draft. Their value has increased immensely in two days already

Did the MLE, minimum and all that stuff go up at the same percentage of the cap?
